San Diego had a pretty big car show the past couple of days. Pretty fun.
So I went to a car show..

Or peoples fascination of taking pictures in cars they don't own or never will. Like why? I just don't understand.
It's also pretty cockish of Nissan to have the GTR locked. Like really, you won't let anyone sit inside your $100,000 toy, but the Mercedes booth has a $150,000 E class completely unlocked.

Yeh man I went up and asked if I could sit in it but they wouldn't let me...I hated seeing all the people taking pictures with the car, mofo you can't even afford that! Jeez... I loved the show but it wasn't like in Texas where you can sit in the Royce. Even Audi had the R8 locked..

We are all car enthusiasts. Why the hell does it matter if we take a pic with a car we can afford or not? Nice pictures anyway.
I can understand the cars being locked or at least not letting people inside of them. If I had a hundred grand sitting there, I wouldn't let people inside of it either. It's not that I wouldn't want to share it if it's at a car show but I would be scared of someone ripping the interior if they had something jagged on their clothes and I also wouldn't want people touching everything inside of the car.
They are some good looking cars so I can understand people taking pictures. Car shows are awesome because you get to see all of the cars that you normally don't get to see. I just never understood a brand new car that was just bought being at a car show. There are tons of Nissan dealerships with a GTR in theis show room, what makes it necessary to take it to a car show? Other than it's a 100 grand super car, there's nothing special about it. Now the 200 grand mercedes, bentley's, etc... I can see that.

I'd say it's the cockish behavior of a few jealous low-life individuals that have ruined others chances to sit in those cars.
When people get in those cars and steal shift knobs, buttons, whatever they can pry out while sitting there, or just vandalize the interior, I'd say the owners have justifiable incentive to lock their cars.
I've been to numerous car shows where street and racing bikes and cars I either work on or helped build, are on display.
There seems to always be a percentage of the general public that has a distinct lack of respect, and seeming inability to simply not touch the vehicles. Then you have the ones that don't settle for just getting their oily hand prints all-over, and want to step it up by vandalizing the cars.
THAT is cockish behavior.

Thank you, I guess I should clarify, people that say oh it's my car my new car I own this....you know just like people with the mentality like that so to speak. Idk I just like cars and trucks.

I am the proud owner of a totally restored 68 Firebird 400. I've owned the car since 1985. Other than paint and rebuilding the rear diff, I did all the work myself over the past 10 years. One thing that drives me NUTS is when I take my self-restored car to a cruise night or a car show and I see a guy with his showroom new 5.0 Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger setting up a display with lawn chairs and everything. Dude, you walked into a showroom and signed on a dotted line. Most of those guys don't even know how to change their own oil. Please!
I wouldn't let that bother you. I've seen the same type. If they're having fun, more power to them.
Everyone knows they just bought a new car, and are proud of it. Their cars are certainly not held in the same regard as a frame-off restoration.
That's true too.
I'm glad that the hot rod owners I know, actually take pride in building their cars. Of course they are also racers, (current or former) that wouldn't see the point in having someone else build a car for them.
