SoCal 4Runner Shop Thread

The Pelfreybilt bumper and sliders look good. Leaning toward those. One question about the suspension though. Anyone with a limited 4runner that did a lift but actually miss their XREAS?

XREAS has to be removed for most lifts right?

If i don't lift the 4runner, i can still replace my 20s with 265 70 r 17 right?

really depends on your needs, X-REAS to me gives the 4Runner a luxury feel, more comfy, I do not miss my X-REAS from my 4th Gen, not sure if it is different than the 5th Gen. I would think it's similar. I believe if you do not lift it, you're okay with fitting 265/70/17, stock tire size from the 5th Gens. But If you lift, I would go bigger. I know I drive a 4th Gen, but I was researching for a 5th Gen at one point lol

XREAS was 4th gen only, i think. and yes, if you plan to lift, you have to rip it all out. do it and don't look back.

Edit: i guess 5G limiteds have XREAS too. Still needs to come out completely if you want to alter your suspench.

Anyone know a good shop in Orange County to install some lighting? I'm ordering some Ditch and Light Bar. I'm getting quotes of around $200 for a ditch light install.

Let me know.

Cold beer is my favorite. Warm beer is my second favorite.

As long as you have the brackets, wiring harnesses and switches we can make it happen.

Exactly what Spenny said. If you have all the aforementioned items. It'll happen easily! We are all in OC near the south coast plaza general area.

Any shop recommendations for a windshield replacement in the inland empire/oc/sgv area? Had a rock fly at my windshield and cause a 6'' crack. Thanks!

I go to Florence and Alameda St in LA. Its right next to Huntington park and there is a row of glass shops there. Last time I had a windshield replaced I went to Brothers Auto Glass and I want to say it was less than $100 bucks.

Ive gone there before also to one of those shops and they do a great job for a good price.

Hey new guy here. I just had the radiator and thermostat replaced on my recently acquired ’99 sr5 at a shop I’ve used before that was recommended in this thread. I’m feeling uneasy about it all.

They installed a Denso rad 221-0508 filled with green coolant and a Toyota thermostat + gasket.

I thought that for the money I paid ($450) I was getting a Toyota radiator, thermostat/gasket, and coolant. They said don’t worry about the green coolant, it’s just the dye used.

I've read an incredible amount of info and experiences here on T4r about radiators and all other things 3rd gen. I’m worried and feeling a tad ripped off. Should I be?

I'm thinking about 1" body lift to clear bigger tires. Where do you guys recommend for the BL installation? LA, LB, OC areas. Someone mentioned JBM Motoring in Orange a few pages back. Thanks.
