SoCal 4Runner Shop Thread

Guys - can anyone an honest, reputable/recommended Toyota specialist in the Santa Clarita or San Fernando Valley area?

I have no problem paying for professional service and mechs who communicate clearly.

Thanks in advance

Jon

Can anyone recommend a fab shop that can do a body mount chop/cab chop on a 5th gen.

I recently installed 285's and it's rubbing in that area at full lock. esp in reverse.

A shop on the westside would be preferable.

thank you for any help/leads!

Pictures of your 285's? If you haven't found a shop that you like for the body mount chop. You should call Jason at Demello Off-road got an appointment with them to install the Total Chaos chromoly gussets. When I bump up to 285's I will have them do the body mount chop also.

Matt mwray8909 is your mans! He's up above Ventura but well worth the drive. Whatever you need done (oil changes, suspension, spark plugs, brakes, CV axles, roof rack, an extra ****ing gas tank) he'll help you do it and teach you what you're doing at the same time.

Thanks, grave. I connected with Matt earlier this week socially. Will have to get his help with the truck too!

Steven at Mixed Metal Work. Unfortunately, it is in the San Gabriel Valley. Best contact was through instagram @mixedmetalwork or email at [email protected]

Steven @ Mixed Metal is the man! He did my BMC.

He definitely takes pride in his work and does a hell of a job making sure the BMC is done right.

I highly recommend him!

mwray8909, You down to help a noob install his suspension and ucas and teach him a thing or two in the process? If so, pm me when you are free. I'd really love to actually install the gear AND know how to work on it as well.

Shopping for suspension now *bangs head*. Boss or king or fox... down the rabbit hole I go...

Where are you putting the extra tank? I keep thinking I want one in the stock spare location...

If anyone needs prices on parts let me know.
I work over at Manhattan Beach Toyota (Parts) . . .

Also have an eBay store you could search BeachToyota or ManhhatanBeachToyota

i'm close to manhattan beach and south bay toyota.

Nice. What's your total cost coming to? And how transferable would it be to a 4th gen? All the custom options I've seen have been in the ~3k range.

I'm not likely to do it soon, but I do want to do it eventually.

I'm looking at close to 1k-1200 it's actually a bit more difficult then you'd expect. With the Frame space being similar I'd say fairly easy. I'll be working on a 4th gen this weekend and I'll be able to give you a better idea.
