SoCal 4Runner Shop Thread

Any electricians in the forum?

I'm trying to re-work some electrical in my garage to be more of a work shop and I need to do 220v and maybe some more 110 outlets or guidance so I don't die.

It's finally time to change the timing belt on my 2008 v8. Looking for a shop in Los Angeles, K-town, Hollywood area that can do this.

Spenny I used Mike at Audiofonixx

Yelp https://www.yelp.com/biz/audiofonixx-irvine-2

Phone number (949) 297-4626

He is a very busy man and may require some getting a hold of them.

However, he is a very smart dude and can do magic on cars. I dont know about house stuff but I would imagine the same. He is also mobile, so you can call him and see what he says. Also mention me Danny (white 4runner)

Good luck!

welder in the LA area?

Considering the 4X Innovations sliders for my 4th gen. Does anyone know of a welder in the LA/South Bay area?

How many miles did you have on them before you rebuilt them? After the 4 day wait, will you do it yourself next time to speed up the process?

I bought them used with about 4K miles on them. I had about 12K on them when I noticed a small drip on the front passenger side shock. I heard that some Icons have bad seals, I guess I got one of them. I talked to the Tech at DC and he said depending on how much I wheeled, I should be able to get about 60K out of them on average. I don't think I will DIY it since I believe you still have to charge the system with Nitrogen gas and I don't have the tools to do it, plus it is somewhat dangerous I hear. I can live with a 4 business day turnaround. The place in TEmecula said it would be 3 weeks before they could even get to me, so I was very happy with DC's turnaround. Happy wheeling.

Know any shops willing to help with the front & rear bumper conversion of a 2010 Limited to the 14+ TRD Pro?

carlomagne Did you end up using them? what was your experience?

They were great! Spoke to Kurt and he was able to knock it out right away. Didn't have time to remove, drop off, and reinstall so I just gave them the whole thing. Couldn't bring it in the morning but was able to leave it the afternoon before and pick it up the following day.

If you need a muffler or catalytic converter Rod's Muffler in San Juan Capistrano is the place to go. I had been dealing with a 420 cel code on my 2000 4Runner and the guy that woks on my NSX recommended Rod, saying he's a fair and honest guy. Instead of trying to sell me both cats as most place would try, he tested and said that just front cat was the problem. Since the cats are the originals I told him to do both so I wouldn't have to worry about the other going out in the future. He installed 2 Magnaflow "carb" cats for $400.00. He also told me that 15 year old Magnaflow muffler has a couple of leaks so I will be taking it there this Saturday to get that replaced.

Rod told me that half of his customers are 4Runner or Tacoma owners.:clap2:

Any recommendations on suspension shops in the Westside/South Bay area of Los Angeles? Got my hands on that $500 TRD Pro suspension package and want to put it on my 2011 LE.

Did a quick Yelp search and "South Bay Truck & 4 Wheel Drive" popped up with 5-stars. Looks like a decent place, but always looking for more options.
