SoCal 4Runner Shop Thread

Reviving the thread

I'm looking for a fabrication shop around Burbank.

In my search not many. There's World Famous and 4x4 doctor but few that exclusively work on Yota's. The ones I have contacted are busy and have atrocious communication. After going through this thread there's seems Los Angeles is lacking.

its kinda far but closer than OC. the shop is in Gardena and its called IPM Fabrications. look up IPM_FAB on IG. he's pretty familiar with toyotas.

Any Burbank area shops recommended?

Same, im in palmdale but always in the valley.

I have a bad parasitic drain I cant track down. Worse case would be going to Japanese Car Specialties or YotaMasters since they know a good amount of these cars.

RPM Offroad in Monrovia! Yelp it...They did my suspension install/alignment and do great work. They get a lot of toyota guys bringing there rigs over so be sure to make an appointment. Ask for Steve and let'em know Chris with a 4th gen 4runner sent you

Repair shop in or near Eagle Rock 90041?

Hey guys,

Anyone know of (or can recommend) a reputable shop in or near the Eagle Rock area (zip code 90041)?

I want to get my 2017 T4R ORP checked out for the following: a) squeaking sound whenever I press down on the lower-left parking brake, b) a single-click sound whenever I press down on the brake pedal, and c) a rattle sound that appears to be coming from the left rear (sounds like a loose nut/washer somewhere).

If you know of the solution(s) to the above, then that would be helpful, too!

I asked dealership (in DTLA, since that is close to where I work), but they said they will charge a fee of about $140+ just to diagnose! Insane!!!

Thanks in advance!

Engine Swap in IE

Can anyone recommend a great shop, in the Inland Empire, to do an R&R on my 3.4L 3rd Gen?

Thank you in advance!

Any recommendations on suspension shops in the Westside/South Bay area of Los Angeles? Got my hands on that $500 TRD Pro suspension package and want to put it on my 2011 LE.

Did a quick Yelp search and "South Bay Truck & 4 Wheel Drive" popped up with 5-stars. Looks like a decent place, but always looking for more options.

I had South Bay Truck install my Wheelers/Eibach springs. They also did the lift on a buddy's new Rubicon. The owner Frank is a nice guy...will talk your ear off. I would give him a call and see what he says. If you find somewhere else, please post. Always looking for options. Good luck.

Car Audio - South Bay

Anyone know a reputable car audio shop in the south bay area preferably. willing to travel if need.

"Hamy" I believe is the name of the Owner/Manager. Older (50-60yrs.) Asian man - very polite, soft spoken, and humble in his way of being... but more importantly... VERY knowledgeable IMO. It's just him (Hamy) and another seasoned mechanic. Prices may not be the greatest at times, but quality of work is always delivered.

If anybody is looking for a capable, trustworthy shop for anything from simple installs to full-kill SEMA builds - SMP Fabworks in Sun Valley is hard to beat.

Steve is very familiar with late model Toyotas and takes pride in his work.

Go to an experienced, reputable shop and save yourself the headache later.

I'm trying to un-limit my 2011 Limited, notably getting it ready to accept rock sliders. Are there any shops in the LA/OC area that can:

  1. Remove the remaining X-REAS system components (I already replaced the shocks with Bilsteins)
  2. Do VERY minor body work (install and paint new rear door flares...I'm doing the 2014 Trail trim mod)

Powder Coat Recommendation

Can anyone recommend powder coaters in the area.

Prefer South Bay but will go else where if i need to.

Could you possibly send me the link for the suspension?? That’s be awsome, thanks!

What are you looking to do? Most of the stuff is super easy that you can do yourself.

yeah i ended up watching a bunch of youtube videos and read online.

i was mostly confused with installing an 4 Channel amp.
installing speakers and all that no problem.

i got everything taken care off though. i did take it into a shop to get the 4 ch amp installed. i wasnt too confident doing it myself.
