SoCal 4Runner Shop Thread

Has anyone had a windshield replaced recently? Got a big a$$ crack in the front glass over the weekend. Thought I'd ask the T4R brethren first, before Yelping. I'm gonna check with my insurance also but highly doubt it's covered.

Why f#@k with it ... Safeway and get it done on your driveway. I recently had to replace my windshield on my beater and they were comparable to mom and pop stores where I had to bring my car to them. I paid the same amount for having Safeway do it; in front of my house.

Here’s a peak at my latest mod for my 3rd gen 4Runner. I have a 3” lift installed and noticed that the sway bar end links were now way too short so I’ve machined my own end links and utilized the threaded shaft of the old end links and will tig weld them in place to mate back to the stock sway bar. I’ve also fabricated my own pan-hard bar drop bracket. I’ve also attached pics of a tundra tube bumper I did recently as well as the custom extended grill and custom front bumper for my 3rd gen 4Runner. They are still in the build/ mock-up phase.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check them out.

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the San Fernando Valley, preferably close to Sherman Oaks? I think my dad's been getting reamed on maintenance costs by the dealership so I'm looking for options.

.

I know this is 2 years later but if you haven't found Z Technics off of Reseda Blvd then there ya go. He's a Yota Whisperer.

Alignment shops in IE

Any recommendations for alignment shop in the IE that knows how to make adjustments to the UCAs? Thanks.

Tire rotation and manual alignment at Pro Alignment in Riverside.
Due to my tires being too thick. You couldnt get a digital alignment tool to attach to the wheel. So found this shop that does it the old school way by gauge and ruler... awesome !!! These kinds of shops are harder and harder to find.

Riverside Pro Alignment
(951) 324 - 1930
5510 Van Buren Boulevard Unit D,
Riverside, CA 92503,

This place is awesome! I got my alignment done here as soon as I got my lift a year and a half ago with no issues. The alignment has been straight on since then.

I just installed a new front bumper so I got new springs for my Fox 2.0 coilovers. They changed out my springs and did another alignment. Even though it didnt feel like I needed it, I went ahead and got another alignment. I couldnt be more satisfied. I have 33's and have no rubbing at all.

This shop is a family owned place that is ran by a father and son. They do alignments the old school way. They actually care about customer satisfaction and put quality in the work that they do.

I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone for any alignment or suspension work.

Hi, does anyone in the orange county area know of a good shop in Orange county that does wheel bearings. I need to replace my rear wheel bearings

What do you typically charge for a body mount chop on a 5th gen?

Anyone got recommendations for a shop for an inspection/anyone wanna earn a couple cases of beer or a scotch? I'm talking with a guy about a 4runner near Santa Monica but live in Colorado. Trying to get some eyes on it before I commit to either fly/drive or shipping. Pretty 1st gen 22re sr5 5spd that has light mods.

Thanks in advance!
Alex

Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop or dealer to fix the wiring harness?

Got rodent damage and has check engine light and multi-terrain flashing. One dealer quoted me $6000. Not sure who should I trust to do the work

I can install it for you...I install suspensions on the regular for people here on the forum and outside of here as well.

That would be awesome. I’m waiting on a few parts to come in, hopefully this week or next at the latest.

What do you charge? Assuming I’d come to you in Palm Springs?
