Just got my first T4R about a month ago, its a 3rd Gen.

I work in Education with Special Needs children.
 
Attorney. Did civil litigation for a large city for many years. Starting to do more advisory work now.

5th Gen Magnetic Gray. Trying to be faithful to getting the recommended 10 miles per month in 4x4 mode. I'm always up for quick day trips if any of you are interested, please hit me up.

Recent trips: Main Divide Trail, Sheep Canyon Trail, Lytle Creek, Chuckwalla Mountains, and Steele Peak.
 
Lead Avionics Technician/ at SpaceX in Hawthorne. Loooooong hours but absolutely incredible place to work. Pays for my '15 Trail Premium, which after 8 months of ownership I still love it.

Buddy of mine got out of the navy and went to work for spaceX down in texas somewhere. Seemed like a pretty legit company.
 
I work at a speedo shop here in Bakersfield, CA.
Worked at LKQ for a year and a half before this.
Going to start smogging cars here in a couple months!

[MENTION=65101]BrianSD_42[/MENTION] yeah I've got profiles on indeed, monster, and specific employee sites (i.e. a bunch of aerospace companies, automotive, etc).

I've gotten a couple different interviews with companies and upon follow up of the interview and finding out their hiring decision, the #1 answer I've been getting lately is "We've decided to hire from within"

I've narrowed my focus, and know that from most of the job postings I've seen, I tend to gravitate towards manufacturing engineer, process engineers, or something similar within those lines.

Another hump to get over is the qualifications for some aerospace stuff.
Have I worked with planes? No.
Have I worked with composites? No.
Do I think all that stuff is cool? Hell yeah, but I need to somehow get my foot in the door if I want to start working in that industry.

I've even reached out to a couple different local offroad shops to see if their hiring for anything, but I either get no response, or that they aren't hiring at the moment. I've got a small little home business making chocolate sweet treats, and that helps with a little income (and of course still living at home), but I'm itching to start a career with my engineering degree.

[MENTION=65101]BrianSD_42[/MENTION] I've applied to a few positions where it specifically states that relocation assistance is provided, as that'd be the only way I could really afford to based on my current financial status. Plus I won't lie, it would be pretty hard to move out of state. Besides being an only child basically all of my family is in California (from Chico to SD), and only some extended extended extended family is in Colorado and Pennsylvania. It would solely be for the money at that point and an option for later down the road, but I have yet to find an entry-level engineering job in the price range to make me move, when right here, for what I've applied for most have been $40-50K plus benefits.
 
I still say take any good job and move out completely on your own if possible.

Waiting too long will damage your prospects.

We are all different kinds of people. I moved out 2 weeks after my 18th birthday via the Navy. Family trama? Needed to get out of there? Not at all. I just wanted to go out on my own. Soon I was on the other side of the country, family 1000s miles away. It was great experience for me. We could talk on the phone. I really didn't think about it much.

Anyways the reason I suggested expanding your reach is because it just may be required.

Btw, if you want someone to look over your resume I'll be glad to give blunt but constructive feedback.

If you can get a job far away there is nothing that says you can't move back after you've got the experience that you want.

Plus that way there isn't a large gap in your resume that makes employers wonder what's wrong with you.
