Soft Top Questions

I'm looking to buy a soft top for my 1986 truck. I've been to three different sites, with 3 varied prices, but didn't know if y'all had any advice.

Can-back soft tops don't have a lot of detail on the site, but are over $1000.

KillerToy Tops have a two part system that seems durable, but either is off or it's on, with removable sides. That's about $800

and Soft-Topper is just over $600 with a top that can come down but still stay on the car, kind of like a car convertable. Money is an object, but I'd rather invest in something that will last and be practical.

The KillerToy seems like just as much trouble as taking the hard top off and on, but I don't want the Soft-Topper if it doesn't work as well.

Let me know what y'all think.

I think I'd go with the Can-Back or Soft Topper, in that order.

I put the sofftopper on about 3 years ago. The hard top went to the back yard & hasn't been back on the truck since.

Can't beat it for the $. Easy to roll up & down the sides.

I almost never roll the sides down on mine...sitting in the garage with the sides up as I type....

I have an old Kayline, and my biggest issue is putting it back on when its less than 70 degrees outside. Its a *****.

I have never had all the snaps, snapped, but it never leaked, so maybe its a redundancy issue.

Someone on the Yotatech forum has a used Kayline top for sale for $300. I think he's negotiable. He lives in GA too so you should check on it if price is a factor. I used to have one and it never leaked. It was hard to snap during cold weather though because it's vinyl.
