Softex seats

First time with softex. I'm inclined to say they feel warmer than leather. My previous truck had leather seats and I don't recall them being as warm as these. I read up on softex; some of the claims are they're cooler and breath better than leather, but I'm not convinced with this material. I really wished Toyota just used leather.

I like them but some days they feel hot enough where i check if the heated seats are on. At first I though my heated seats were malfunctioning. When I bought the truck I did not notice how hot they got during the test drive.

Yeah the softex really doesn't breathe. Anything over an hour and your back and butt will be unpleasantly damp when you get out of the truck. I got the truck in October when it was already cool outside and didn't notice this at all through the winter (obviously) but not that we're having warmer afternoon with temps in the high teens or 20s it's very noticeable and uncomfortable.

If anyone has any great ideas for seat coverings that breathe I'm all ears.

First time with SofTex here. Wife also has the VW equivalent on her Golf SW. They run really hot and do not breath at all. Other than their apparent longevity attributes, I am not a fan. Vinyl is vinyl.

I've been on the fence between buying a TRDOR vs ORP. Since the SofTex "Pleather" is a big reason for the markup, I'm leaning toward the standard OR now. I live in Hawaii where it's relatively always in the 75-90 degree range and noticed how much hotter that material is vs the cloth on a 20-minute test drive. I put the Cover King neoprene seat covers on my current 4R seats and they actually made them feel even more comfortable. I just wish they'd make the side mirrors with blinkers a standard option for safety reasons

My softex seats run hot, but I mostly drive the truck in the winter so that's mitigated. I have NuLuxe seats in my Lexus IS 350 and I think they breathe better and are more comfortable. Maybe it's just the added perforation of the Lexus seats.
