Solar roof top pipe shower

Does anyone have the parts list and write up for the diy version of the 4inch pvc pipe solar shower I can't seem to find it.

Yeah thanks saw those debating trying it out don't feel like spending 300$ on the real one however it is very sexy looking
 
Have been looking into something like this for the sole reason it would allow the Mrs. to stay out longer camping. After about 3-4 days. . .she "requires" a shower. The pre-built ones though cost and arm and a leg, will have to look into something like this.

No problem.

It really looks like an easy build. Literally just 2 things to fab: one hole for the shredder valve & one hole for the spigot. I might try one soon myself. My only concern is the weight on just one side of the vehicle. It's not a lot, but at about 8lbs per gallon - it can add up quick. I like the design on the Honda Element (forgot which video it was), but it's a square rather than a tube that just sits on one side. Dunno.

Most of these hold about 4-5 gallons which is 35-45 lbs. (Water is 8 lbs/gal) Considering we often drive with or without a passenger that isn't enough weight to worry about. Put a loaded ice chest on the other side and you're balanced out.
 
One of these are on my radar. My misses would be willing to stay out longer if a quick shower could be had. Not worried about the weight really.

After using PVC and ABS piping for years, I went with a Roadshower too. Also, with the pricing for the fittings and the fact if it gets too hot they blow apart in the desert, I went with easier.

Did you actually have one blow up? Apart from that did you have problems with the fittings getting leaky after a while? I can imagine that the plastic expands/contracts quite a bit as the water heats up and cools down at night which might play hell with the fittings over time.

I went with the Zodi you linked and it is awesome. The advantages that i can see it has over the Road Shower are:
-Hot water on non-sunny days
-More versatile (works away from the vehicle if needed)
-Doesn't take up rack space (I have a RTT)
-Easier to fill (fill directly from lakes, campground pumps, etc.)
-Easier to pump up (built in pump)

The only disadvantage I see is that it uses propane cartridges instead of free solar heat, but they are cheap and readily available most anywhere.

I modified ours with a longer hose and a kitchen sink spray head and couldn't be happier. It is really nice being able to have a hot shower when out in the boonies for more than a couple days.
