Solar roof top pipe shower

Did you actually have one blow up? Apart from that did you have problems with the fittings getting leaky after a while? I can imagine that the plastic expands/contracts quite a bit as the water heats up and cools down at night which might play hell with the fittings over time.

If the temps get too high the ABS fittings just pop off. I went with Mission bands afterwards and they would end up distorting the pipe and leak. Mind you, I spend a lot of time in Mojave and Death Valley area, where it does get a bit warm.
Also, lived in MT where you had to drain it and take it off all the time.
I felt it wasn't worth it just to have a shower, until the Roadshower came out. The sun works really well with it.

I'm really liking the looks of the zodi. I was going to build a pvc version of the roadshower but I like being able to heat with propane.

I made my own "Road Shower" from 4" black pvc pipe. It heats up incredibly warm on sunny days. Just gotta suck it up when it's cloudy. Works great after camping, surfing, for dishes or the pooch!
Holds 4 gallons.
Quick-disconnects for the hose.
Valve for pressurizing with small 12v compressor.
<$170 for all parts (including compressor) see the attached zip folder with BOM with links to all parts
You will need some taps for the threaded fittings ("borrowed" from work )
For the labor, well worth it instead of paying $300. So many people compliment it!
Once I get home from work, I'll post up some pictures of it. You can sort of see it in some of my pics now.

Some pics of the roof shower. The fill cap on top has been modified for a proper seal using silicon sheeting inside of a white pvc female cap. It holds really secure on the stock rack with just 4 EPDM bungees. Never rattles and no wind noise.
