Solara Nav ?

I just received my Solara Nav unit from OEM value today. It came with the Nav unit, GPS antenna, & the speed sensor wire. My only question is would the DVD map be located inside the Nav unit already? Or should that have also been included inside the main package?

yeah the dvd is in the unit. I was thinking the same thing you were when mine came in from OEMvalue. Let me know how much that exhaust system was....Were you able to keep the spare?

OK good, thanks for that info because I wasnt getting a reply from the OEM value guy.

The exhaust was $729 shipped to my door. I wasnt able to keep the spare, if I plan on taking a long trip I will just strap it down in the trunk.

How much was the NAV system from OEM Value? How was it to install?

$1600 shipped. Took about 20 min to install if you know how to install head units. Probably the easiest Nav install ever!

I am hoping since you have done the install you will know the answer to my question. I have read a good bit of threads on this topic but have not seen anything that answers my question.

What is the base radio i need to do the Nav unit? Can i get my 4Runner with the basic radio and cd player and later order the Solara Nav unit or do i need the upgraded JBL?

If you get the base model radio (the non-jbl) you can look for the camry nav, but you'll need to install an external amp. If you get any of the other radios that have the jbl sound, you'll need the solara. the difference is in the details of what the radio puts out. the solara nav sends digital signals to the external amp that's already installed. the camry puts out analog signals. this information is burried somewhere here on this forum, as well as at the place where many have purchased their oem nav units...
