Solo Motorsports stock length LCA's will soon be a thing!!!!

My next tire will likely be a 285/75/17, or 34. Bigger than what I have, but not a 35. I think I'll probably clear them right now with what I've done for 33s.

Speaking of 35s and these though, I agree and disagree. Of course there won't be as much clearance issues on the firewall. But I think there would still be enough room for a 35 with the LBJ pushed forward an inch. I honestly haven't looked into the battery box and air filter clearances since I haven't needed to, but I'd guess that the concern above all would be the the window wisher reservoir which can easily be relocated.

I can guarantee that by pushing that ball joint an inch forward the 35 will be hitting on the air box and battery tray area. With a 1 inch body lift and a conservative alignment with my SPC arms at e I clear the battery area by barely half an inch. There's a point of diminishing returns with pushing the tires forward. I think the majority of people vastly underestimate the amount of work it takes to properly clear 35s if you wheel your truck. Imo it's much easier to tub the firewall than it is to tub the air box area, there just isnt much room to move stuff there. I will agree though that the more "stretched" wheelbase looks better.

I'm betting the additional inch will help significantly to clear the frame with -25mm offset wheels - since it moves the edge of the tire to a narrower part of the frame. (I'll let everyone know when I buy a set of these LCAs.)

Maybe. I've got 17x9 -12(4.5 BS). I've had 1.25" wheel spacers on forever. That effectively puts my backspace at 3.25". I barely rub the frame when aired down. If you go with a 3.5 BS which a 8 -25 is I'm betting you still hit.

Gotta love figuring out where to compromise. lol

so you're at -44ET? that's wide as all outside, man - how's that steer at speed?

-43.75 actually. lol

It steers totally fine. I like the wider stance for a lot of wheeling I do. I've been in some serious off-camber situations and it helps. I have yet to see any negative effect from it.

Also curious about this. Does this mean the steering wheel keeps going to the limits of the tie rods? Does this increase the chance of breaking them?
There are internal stops in the steering rack. Take a look at your steering stops on the stock arms - they are probably not even touched.

It would be cool to see someone clearance for 35s with these arms. I would like to see the results, positive or negative.

I can't give you the 35's but I can show you this... I have SPC uppers and LT255/85R16 on steel pizza cutter spares. I was in the sand dunes and maybe got some air when I was not trying? yea that is what happened.

you can see the only thing that hit was the greese zerk on the SPC upper. I think 35's would fit if you had a better bump stop, I have duro bumps but they can't handle air time. A decent air bump with about 1/2" loss in travel would probably work.

you can click the image and open it in it's own tab and get full rez of it.

the lower arms are really beefy and I have no concerns they will take a good beating.

i have seen marks on the steering stoppers of my stock LCAs and LBJs.

Also, wouldn't that damage the rack if indeed the rack stoppers are working?

I have 285s

Can the SPC grease fittings be replaced with Toyota grease fittings? I'm just concerned about the quality and that they could let dirt or water in

you could pull the fitting out and just plug it off with any M6 x 1.0 bolt. the only time you really need the fitting is when your pumping grease into the joint. I'm sure the joints are designed to be flushed out with grease from time to time.

the u-joint's on the 4runner drive shaft(s) are designed the same way, the correct maintenance procedure is to just pump grease thru until it looks new. that way you know you have cleaned them out as well as you can.

SPC upper arms are good solid quality. I drive my truck pretty hard from time to time so I like quality stuff. I also drive it long distance on the road. I need it to get me there and home.

Anyone else get these LCA’s? How are they holding up? Any reviews on 35’s yet?

With 35s you will be hitting under the battery and under airbox if you do not have a body lift.

like some have said, its easier to tub the firewall than start clearing the front area. but it does look more balanced with it pushed forward.

I'm running them with 35s and have been for a few thousand miles now. No noticeable problems since making the switch to 35s.

Currently have the spindles pulled for gusseting and wheel bearings, but plan on doing some clearancing when I get the spindles back. Can report back once that's done, hopefully in a few weeks.

Many questions... PM sent!

Bumping this, I'm considering these and torn if I should just do Eimkeith reinforcements on my LCAs or upgrade to these. Any extended testing or review on what I may benefit from these? I am already running 35s BTW with no clearance issues. I have a slight 1in Body lift to help but more so wanted to see if the more forward position suspension is a benefit.

Shame they reuse stock LBJ. I may see if I can run these with the new LBJ's that Anonymous_Fab_Josh is working on making...

if you have a 1" body lift, these lower arms are about the best I have seen from a centered in the wheel well point of view.

solo makes fully fab knuckles that use 1"uniball... it's just not free to do all these fun things.

if your after more travel then it's going to take a lot more than just lower control arms. if your after bigger tires to slow crawl then these are a great option. if you want to eat trail bumps at high speed or send it... your going to need a lot more.
