This looks like a great deal for $5,500 and you might be able to get it for around $4,900. It is damn near impossible to find 3rd Gen 4Runners with 103,000 miles - especially a 1998 that is almost 19 years old! The interior looks almost new on this one. Look at the f@&?ing driver's seat! Look at the condition of the original Limited floor mats. The interior is complete with cargo cover and everything.

This guy accidentally has it listed for $55 instead of $5,500, so it isn't showing up in price searches (ex: $5,000 - $7,000) that a lot of people do.

If I had the money I would offer this guy $5,000, swap out my front seats with these, take the cargo cover, and then drive up to Colorado and sell it for $8,000!

That's hilarious you posted this. I bought it last week. Just talked to the guy and he said he's gotten call after call about it. I drove 4 or 5 around here before getting to this one mostly SR5s and none were close to as clean or as cared for. ive put 400 miles on it since Thursday a week ago and it's great. Looking forward to many more years.

Congrats! Great find. What did you end up paying? Any other details about options or other items not evident in the photos?

The only flaw I saw in the photos was some very minor damage on the front bumper. Are you going to get a replacement bumper from a salvage yard? You can find a like-new front 1998 OEM chrome bumper on HollanderParts.com. Do a radius zip code search from your house.

Lol yeah. Compared to other cars I saw in this price range around here this car is a prince but it still has a few things. First it has 130k not 103. He flipped the numbers. He wouldn't negotiate much. I didn't pay asking, but fairly close. Can't blame him. I saw a few at 5500 that would have sold at 5k that weren't close to this.

The front drivers side speaker doesn't work. Someone replaced the shocks but they are cheeaaap. Someone took time to hide small imperfections like oxidizing wiper arms (painted black) and you can tell it's been repainted in spots and blended. It has three small surface rust spots in the roof and mirror, but those are fixable. Minor dents in doors and lift gate. Wheels need help. More likely I will replace them. The interior is perfect but you can tell part of the drivers seat and steering wheel were redyed but the leather isn't cracked.

The bumper looks fine to me. Have to look closer. Maybe they replaced or fixed it? The passengers side doors got dented and repaired. The paint job isn't great there.

But all the switches and power things work like a charm. Fluids look clean. No sludge. Doesn't seem to be burning anything. It's a single owner car and the previous owner put 90k miles on it in 4 years then the remaining 40k in more than ten years. Mostly serviced at a dealer in Naples. So far. So good.

Next weekend I will cut and polish the paint and see if I can address the rust.

As you know 130,000 is still extremely low for a 1998. My 2001 had 133,000 miles when I bought it almost exactly a year ago, and it was very clean... nearly pristine.

By the way, I want to buy your cargo cover if you don't want it. Last year I switched out my brackets from the U-shaped 2001-2002 to the trapezoid-shaped 1996-2000.

Yep. Yours looks amazing. I love that blue. So many champagne or beige around. Yours looks much cleaner than mine.

But at the price I paid I can't complain at all.

OK... So I looked at the pics again. What I thought was rust and small dents on the front bumper was actually a reflection of the guy's ankles (whoever was taking the photos).

I noticed that too. As you probably know, the 4RUNNER emblem on 1996-1998 4Runners is on the license plate surround. This leaves a void where the 4Runner emblem is for 1999-2002 4Runners. I think that the previous owner was a big fan of symmetry and just added a second 4WD emblem to balance things out. If you remove the second 4WD emblem you would be back to the original factory placement. The 1998 owners out there can correct me if I am wrong.
