sound deadner?

Seen alot of guys doing this and really would like to as well. Can anyone tell me a good place to get some for a fair price and what a quality product you may have experience with is? I checked e bay but there is so much to choose from and dont really know what a reasonable mil would be. No big subs or anything just wanna quiet things down and help get some rattles gone. I use Audiotechnix, preferably the 80mil version, easy to work with, just cut with scissors, Peel and stick. 20 sq from for the doors and around 30 for everything else should be good.

Also check out murdermat, stinger roadkill, and alphadamp.

If you want to do your floors gtmat or fatmat will work fine on the floor, just doesn't stay stuck to doors and panels very well.

60Mil is the thinnest I go, the thicker the better though.

I used peel and seal from Lowes in the building materials section. Way way cheaper and easy to use and made a big difference for me. I put it on the roof when I had the headliner out, cargo area floor, and inside the doors.

If you want actual sound deadening it goes further than CLD like Raamat and Dynamat Extreme... Which are good products... You'll want to use Closed Cell Foam and Mass Loaded Vinyl on top ... CLD usually requires 25-30% coverage you want just enough to keep the panel from resonating don't do full coverage it's a waste of time and money... Not to mention extra weight. Closed Cell Foam and Mass Loaded Vinyl should be applied with as much to 100% coverage as they are designed to block sound. Here is a great source of info

Cool. Thx for the input. I have researched a little further other places and people are saying that the peel and seal ends up smelling like asphalt real bad in the summer. Those of you that used it had any of those issues? I wonder if bedliner would work?

I don't smell anything in mine and it gets stupid hot daily being parked in the sun.

It only smells for the first few days. I dont smell anything anymore from the peel n seal.

I don't think it would keep out sound all that well. +1 To the Lowe's Roof Repair stuff. I did the entire cab of my '94 Toyota Pick-up. I'd use the same stuff all over again. I think it worked very well.

I have deadened two 4runners and a civic over the past 5 years with Fatmat. My civic (which is black) does smell a bit. My latest 4runner I used 1 layer of Rattletrap sealed with their liquid sound deadener and use liquid on areas taht are hard to reach (Rear fender areas. Zero smell. Not sure they make the liquid stuff anymore. Make sure you use a heat gun and use the roller.
