They have campsites there at Gulches. Is that where you're thinking about staying? They also have a little primitive cabin (more like a shack) you can use too. I believe it's got some heating and cooling. Probably one of those window units. You'd probably want to call and reserve a camp site if you're interested though.

All right that sounds great! This will be our first trip out since Joseph's been born.
One thing to note is everyone should bring there own lunch and a cooler
We can eat lunch on the side of a trail or at aspot were we can spectate What time should everyone meet up donw there? I read The Gulches doesn't open until 10:AM ?

maybe skip will let us cook out some burgers on the grill up at the house where the picnic tables are. . . thats what we did for the 4wheelparts even and it was a blast!!!!!

Gulches is pretty small, so we usually just pop out to the parking lot for lunch. Or if not crowded that day, a nice spot by the river. You can get anywhere in 5 minutes there.

We haven't really come up with a "plan" lol
I'm still kinda waiting to see a weather out look to decide what I'm going to wined up doing I may camp that friday night, or may just drive in monday morning. But Likely me, Darklight, and Superman will be there around 10 at the latest Saturday morning.

I say we try to get there at 9:45. The park opens at 10 and we should all be ready to roll by 10:15ish after airing down and admiring everyones rigs for a minute Anyone want to try and ride down caravan? I know PD (Suprman3043) is very close to me and Austin (aha2988) may ride past us as well. MadToy which route do you take coming from Huntersville, straight down 85?
Again I have not been to the park before but my understanding is that it is smaller then Uwharrie so I am guessing we don't really need any comms and all I have is a standard Walkie Talkie. If anyone else has a set they can bring that would be great though. This way at least the guys in the front can talk to the guys in the back.

Gulches is MUCH smaller than URE. However, it has as many, if not more, fun obstacles. The biggest difference is at URE you will ride along the trail for 20 minutes to get to the obstacle. At Gulches, the trail IS the obstacle

How long does it usually take to get there from Huntersville? I hope Brian can come too.
Looks like there is alot of steep hill climbs and me not having a tow hitch i'm wondering if i should remove my rear bumper to save it from scrapping the crap out of it?

i crushed mine up pretty good there many times....also crushed my tailpipe....and its still hangin in the tree at the main house.

9:45 Sounds fine to me. It's about a 2hr drive from the house. If we wanna stop in Laurens and pick up something to eat for lunch, we can factor that in. And you KNOW i'm down to convoy! That shit is fun. I'm good with meeting for breakfast as well.
Yeah, walkie's would be straight. I've got one (1) I can bring. My other is MIA.
As far as removing your bumper goes Bobby... I've only really bumped my hitch on one little hill that's got a gnarly departure angle on it, and it's only hit 1 time out of 2 (50/50) This one:
And this one is optional with a bypass. I've run just about everything else there that's doable on our rigs and haven't had any clearance issues. I think you'll be fine. Hell, if you rip it off, it's a good way to get insurance to buy you a CBI at the price of a deductable
