Some more pics of the 40" lightbar wind fairing for the SSO rack. This is the Rigid SR2 40", but it also accepts the Baja Designs S8 40" and the Heise single row 40".

Any chance you (or anyone else) has some pictures of the light-mount fairing without the light mounted? I'm trying to see if:

1. it's worth it to get the fairing for an as-of-yet unpurchased light bar
2. the fairing will fit other sized light bars (e.g. double-stack, <40", multiple smaller cubes, etc)
3. how bad it looks with the space cut out but no light installed (see #1)

Also, any chance you will be having any specials next week? Looks like a great product, and will serve my needs (RTT), and I'm somewhat on the fence but could be easily pushed over if only....

They're plates with holes cut in them for tie downs. They basically raise the side rails of the rack to make a sort of faux basket. They're listed with the accessories on their website.

The rack is a completely flat surface on top, taking into consideration the curvature of the roof. If you lift the front of your truck more, the rack will obviously change its orientation to the ground because its bolted to the truck itself.

If anyone is still looking for easier ways to bolt things on to this rack - these Tee Bolts work really well. Heads fit in the slots like they were made for it.

Did you put the correct before pic in? There’s no variation in the picture with regard to the rake or the leaves on the tree.

Yes, I did. Don't look at the tree or the back house's window as I did not take the picture from the exact spot and the pictures angle are different (it was raining hard this weekend when I did my suspension and did not pay attention to these details). Look at the gaps between tires and fenders

Those pics look so similar it’s crazy. But moral of the story, it doesn’t look like the roof has a steep slant when the truck is level.

Do you feel like the mounting hardware is sturdy in how it connects to the vehicle? It seems like most of the options use spacers, which to me seems like a potential weak point in most of the rack designs I’m considering.

Remember this is a “no drill rack”. That being said, here are the mounting points:

The new wind fairing with 40" led flush mount is almost ready. We're sending the final test unit to powder tomorrow. It can accommodate the 40" Heise, Rigid or Baja Designs light for sure, and probably a few others with its universal fitment ability.

Curious will this fit any double row LED or just single row bars?

When I was buying my rack, the lady on the phone was very specific that the rack only fits 40" Rigid, Baja, or Heise lights. I have not seen anyone mount a double row on it, only single row.

IMHO, mounting a double row light sort of defeats the purpose of a low profile roof rack.

Finally got my rack on! Ordered may 29 and got it July 19th. Only two days after I got the tracking number. Unfortunately they sent me two driver side side rails but they quickly sent me a passenger side rail and said not to worry about the extra one. Ps if anyone wants or needs a driver side side rail and is near Austin tx pm me and you can have it.

For the shark fin. The only way I could get the rails to fit was to put the 2" in the rearmost angled spot and use a 3" in the spot infront of the antenn, but I had to offset the 3" one bolt hole forward to clear. So that 3" bar only has two bolts holding it in. I emailed them and waiting a reply. I thought they fixed this issue but I guess not.

Make sure you check the threads on the cross bars!! I noticed a bolt wasn't wanting to thread in on the first cross bar I was installing. Took a look and that was all kinds of swarf in the hole! Grabbed a pic and cleaned it out and checked the rest of the cross bars and had multiple FULL of swarf. (Swarf is metal left over from machining, in this case cutting the threads). I wish sso would have checked these before shipping out. The crossbars also appeared to have been stored for a while, they were very dusty and the finish wasn't great from rubbing on each other. Not a huge deal as they are hardly visible and will get plenty of wear on their own, just a detail that would have been nice to not have been glossed over by sso.

The picture of the swarf on the red stripe is from ONE crossbar! Kinda a lot.

Fit was quite good. The 4runners roof amhas a taper so it's further apart from the roof gutters in the back than in the front but that's by design I presume and the roof rack is square. Wouldn't make much sense to have a taper for most people.

Looks are great. Really happy overall. Probably left something out but there's my review.

The rails are actually identical. The logo plates were incorrect on both of mine (part of the first 10 made). One was backwards (on the wrong side of the rail) and the other was cut in reverse somehow so it couldn't be used at all. I told SSO and they sent me 2 replacement logo plates and the rivets to install them. It took about 10 minutes with a 1/8" drill bit and a rivet gun. I still have both of the old ones in an envelope somewhere around here. I don't have the shark fin so I have no suggestions on how to work around that other than what you did. I also installed the 2" crossbar on the rear angle because I wanted all 3" across the top.

Re shark fin antenna: check few pages down on my solution- swapped the gaskets and raised the rack by few mm. SSO solution was to send a 10x20 bar to use ahead of the antenna.

Re swarf: I had some, not as much - took an air gun and clean every thread
