We were waiting on cross bars. We are shipping all of our orders in the order in which they were received.....trying to get all of our orders out as fast as we can....even working tomorrow. We just had a local customer stop by to show us how easy it was to mount a CVT roof top tent to his rack. Removing some cross bars during installation makes it go much smoother and allows you easy access to the cvt mounts.
He didnt use any special hardware except the kit we provide and whatever comes with the CVT tent.

Installed SSO Roof Rack Today
Got to install my SSO roof rack today. The weather was finally nice and already did the Memorial Day festivities. Nicely packaged and no damage upon arrival. Checked all the contents and besides for the clear vinyl that goes under the wing faring having one edge chewed up and needing trimmed, everything was ready to assemble. The instructions are easy to follow and I would have been able to do everything myself but I did call over an extra set of hands when removing the old roof rack and getting the wind faring and crossbars in place. An extra set of hands definitely makes it easier. Took a few hours from start to finish. You will need like a decal squeegee for the vinyl which I had but others may not. It is not included with shipment. The squeegee will help lay the vinyl down without getting air bubbles in it. A trick for the vinyl is to adjust it to the proper placement on the car, use painters tape to tape down the middle, then lift one side up...remove the tape backing, cut the backing, then squeegee. Remove the painter’s tape...lift the other side...remove backing...squeegee. If you mix just a bit of dawn dish soap and water in a spray container and mist car and tape, after removing tape backing, you’ll squeegee the water out from under tape when applying the vinyl and minimize the risk of air pockets under it. No directions on how to apply the vinyl are given. If you have never applied a large decal before, you can quickly mess up the vinyl. SSO should think about adding some verbiage to their directions to account for vinyl installer newbies. A squeegee in the package contents could also be a really nice touch to make sure the installer has everything they need.
I ordered extra crossbars with mine but I need to order another 3” crossbar. Thought I said I wanted it filled when ordering but the packing slip and order don’t show a 2nd extra 3” crossbar. They did send me two - 2” crossbars though. I am glad this was ordered because I can’t get a 3” crossbar at the last back placement due to the shark fin attena. The 2nd 2” cross went there instead.
Pleased with the look, sturdiness, quality, and ease of installation. Question if a 3” crossbar should be able to fit at the end of a 2016 but the 2” works. Here are some pics. Work in progress with my 2016 limited.

I received another set of strap tie down loops this week from Amazon. These are called 1" Footman loops and they are intended for Jeeps, kayaks, ATV, etc. They will fit across the 3" wide bars and anchor in the 2 outer slots. They appear to be drilled for #8 hardware but I'm going to ream mine slightly for some #10 80/20 parts I already have. The outer ones in the upper picture are for 2" straps and are anchored in a diagonal configuration with 1/4"x20 hardware. They have already been used to secure cargo up there and it's really nice to be able to slide them across the slots for specific width equipment. I'll be installing 4 of the smaller ones on the front 3 bars where my sunroof would have been and I may get another 4 pack to replace the larger ones.

I placed my order 9 weeks ago. I was told to expect a tracking number this week. Figure another week on shipping. So, about 10 weeks lead time. That number might be skewed because I bought during their sale.

Got my [MENTION=110183]SouthernSS[/MENTION] full length rack on and I love it! Super sturdy and it looks BA. I'm not sure if it is the screws or the rack, but it is rusting pretty bad in/around all the holes for the screws...and I have only had it on for a month :wtf: I'm super concerned about this and feel like this should not be happening. Has anyone else had this issue/had it rust within the first 30 days?!? I paid an extra $40 for the black hardware too.

Thanks for your comments. It is actually the threads of the weld nut on the bracket and not the SS black oxide bolts that is showing slight rust. The brackets had to be made from steel for structural integrity. The problem is that if we powder the threads of the steel bracket then you aren't able to insert the screw. You can back out the bolts and use gun oil, WD40 or other suitable oil and that should stop the rust.
