I wouldn't mind leaving mine off but I'm hearing a pretty frequent rattle (flexing wind fairing) without the trim. Thanks for the response.
anyone figure out a solution to the bar drainage issue yet? Every time I wash it, the slots on the bars fill up and slowly leak over hours causing streaks down one side. I Vacuum it out which helps, but is quite irritating. I am considering drilling holes at the end of the slots so that they drain properly.
lol yes I had this happen too. Saw it go flying away when I was driving through the drying fans. I picked it up and put it back on and applied silicone to the bottom. But yeah without it, it really rattles like crazy.

Frankly, I think it's a fair thing to have open communication about your production with your customers, especially when they have paid in full up front for a product that is several months away from delivery. There's been too many boutique companies taking money and going belly-up lately.
Definitely - Mine seems to be a lot more sensitive to bridges/underpasses and other line of site issues. Places where it never cut out before the rack now have intermittent signal loss.
Note a huge deal - I love the way the rack looks and the signal usually only drops off for a second or two.

So I kind of fixed it a little better but still goes out often. I have a 2019, so I had a 3" in front of the antenna and a 2" in the rear. The 3" was touching the antenna which I think was causing some of the interference. I swapped it out for a 2" and it has a little better reception.

Since they both use the same off-the-shelf 8020 T-slot bars, I would say it's extremely likely.

This is aggravating. My solution it to drive to the end of the block and back and then dry the truck. Works like a charm.

Alternative for the silicone?
I traded my 4Runner in for a new one, so I'm getting set to re-install the rack on the new truck. Since it's been some time, I wondered if any of you figured out an alternative to the silicone application at the mounting posts? Call me stupid, but I'm actually having one heck of a time getting the old silicone off of the metal posts...I've tried heat, a razer blade, denatured alcohol -- what a pain the a$$. In any case, has anyone figured out a rubber washer, a soft rubber gasket of sorts, a cover or 'boot' type idea -- any protective, waterproof alternative to the silicone? I remember making a royal mess with the stuff last time because I was so paranoid about leaks. If any of you guys have a tested/proven alternative I'd be grateful for the insight.

One of the other manufacturers uses some sort of foam and pressure seal arrangement. I forget which one, but one of the newer to market. It has an open rear with no fairing so I couldn't dig the visuals despite its function. But they promote that application and as far as I know it is unique. I think they're based out of CO or thereabouts....but the name escapes me.

Sherpa uses a rubber gasket and rubber bonded washers to provide a seal without resorting to silicone or other goop. I just installed mine. It installed...right...like something the OEM would have engineered.
