Spare tire/jack handle rod

So i bought a 1992 4runner last month and while going over the whole truck found that the rod for lowering the spare tire is missing. I hit up the wrecking yards around Reno looking for one, but they've been pick clean (even looking in the pickups) So my question is anyone know if a rod out of another make of truck will work?

You're going to find about everything picked clean. The guys that ready trucks for auction like to snag things like jacks and tool sets and sell them. Your best bet is going to be Ebay or find a guy parting out that still has them.

One from about any year Toy truck or runner will do 2wd too.

Where are you at? (Avater says Sparks.) I got a spare sitting right here, S.F. East East Bay. It's just the main arm though, no spare turning handle or extension to go with it.

Thanks for the info everyone. I found one out of an 88 pickup that should work.
