Speed limit on navigation

I have read some old threads about this but never found a definitive answer. Do you have an "I" icon on the lower right side of your display when you are not navigating anywhere? I do not but when we were on a trip a while back I looked down at the display and the "I" was there. I could then hit the button and the street name and speed limit would show on the display. A little while later the "I" would disappear. The only way I can get the speed limit and street name to appear is to navigate somewhere (I always had the option to display the speed limit in this mode) and then cancel navigation. The speed limit and street name continues to be displayed. When the 4runner is turned off the speed limit display or the "I" does not return. I stopped at the dealer today and was told that this is normal and they kind of blew me off about it. It just seems odd that the I display randomly shows up at times. Am I doing something wrong?

I typically keep the home screen up with audio, favorite contacts and the map up. If I click on the map to go full screen, then go back to the home screen, the map on the home screen will display the speed limit until I turn the vehicle off, then I have to do it again. But it only displays the speed limit on highways.

I get the speed limit displayed on highways - occasionally on secondary highways it does not display, presumably because the map does not have the data. I'm sure that is what you are seeing.

Is this there all the time or only when navigating somewhere? Mine does not do it on highways except as in my original post. In other words does it come up every time even after restarts?

If I got it right...

Not-navigating - push "i" and get mileage and road

When navigating push the "i" and can get 3 different displays in that area...

1. Distance and ETA

2. Distance and Time enroute with a blue "countdown" line (goes L to R) as you get close to destination

3. Speed and road.

Also at the top left corner with the compass heading - push it and screen is

1. "Top down" view oriented to current vehicle heading

2. "Top Down" oriented with North up

3. A slight horizontal "3D ish" view.

Mine is a 2015 Trail Premium. Let me check in the AM to make sure. On the way from work today, speed indication varied with the road I was on in navigation back to the house.

Verified - No speed limit display or "i" to push when not navigating, road name only. When navigating, have all indications as noted above. So, no need to ask dealer about it since it's not there anyway.
