How thick are those spacers Lignum? I'm running 1" on the front and my door jam says 225s also so My studs should be the same length as yours. I can get the nuts on mine threaded on all the way with some threads sticking out past like martini's pic of the 4th gen.
Either someone replaced your studs with shorter ones, or that spacers isn't bored deep enough. I would NOT run them like that!
Brian, what brand of spacers do you have? Spidertrax? AllPro?
Yeah I'd have to pull a wheel and look at it...but with the spacers I've driven 3 hours ar 80mph, then hardcore wheeling all weekend, and then 3 hours at 80 again without giving the spacers a second thought.
long long thread for a simple question, your fine, they way the math works on this one is the number of threads you need to attain here is "7" anything over that is over-kill, once you reach 7 threads due to the math your pretty much looking at an infinitely long thread after that. if you don;t quite got that you may need longer studs but i can't really see that being an issue.
i'll see if i can find a link to show you what i'm talking about
I think I have about 8 threads.
I don't know anything about thread science or load coefficients, but thats what my spacers looked like on my truck and I put a ton of 80mph miles on them. The only issue I had was some vibration at 70 or so....the reason I got rid of them was because I didn't need them anymore. One thing that made me a little nervous about them was the little paper that comes in the box with them that says "FOR OFFROAD USE ONLY"...oh, and I never had them retightened. I put them on and took them off a couple of times when I was doing my brakes...never retightened them. I did use loc-tite every time though....
So, there's my experience with them. Bulldogtaxi has them now...he has a 4th gen but I don't know if that makes a difference.
Had the same issue with my spacers didnt seem like there was quite enough threads there. So I ordered some extended lugs from all pro got all 24 for like $20.00
I wouldnt perceive that as safe even if thats true...
so are the front shorter studs on the hub replaceable at all?...i'm having the same issue here..i'm still abit skeptic..
