Received the kit from Spiker the other day, spent this morning watching Timmy's video, getting parts installed and holes drilled. Right now, sitting here watching the window, waiting for Amazon to pull up with the rivet gun I ordered yesterday. Once I have that, should take a few minutes to wrap up the install. Very well organized, and CLEAR, instructions. Well done, Leon.
Only "tip" I can offer is that to establish the new hood heigth, I used a telescoping photographic monopod. I could dial in the new distance I wanted, lock the monopod in place, and then use to support the hood while I did the install. I also zip-tied it to the hood, just to make sure it wasn't bumped loose.
Still waiting for Amazon...
Update: Works like magic, as advertised.

YOu guys are lucky to be in the lower 48 and amazon prime only 2 days.

RAM mount has an arm with adjustable joints at either end so it can be tilted/offset in any direction.

Yes, absolutely, the RAM kit consists of a ball base, a short double socket arm, and the X-grip holder, as shown in the picture below. So you can tilt the phone any which way you want, as well as move it around in all directions, then lock it in place. It is by far the most "positionable" holder we have.
And correct, the magnet holder is not pivotable, it will just hold the phone in place and point (more or less) at the driver.

I put hood struts on my 4Runner last week. I forgot about it, and popped the hood this afternoon and it just opened right up, one handed. It’s a silly little upgrade compared to suspension and gears and armor, but man it makes things so much easier. I wish I’d put these on years ago.

This was long overdue as I ordered these a long time ago but Spiker Engineering has great service and a great product. I had meant to give Leon a positive review but I procrastinated and then forgot to do it I had a small issue with one of the struts when I first got the kit and Leon was able to resolve the matter quickly. Great communication and easy to install. Struts are so much better than the original rod.
I thought I'd posted a positive review of the struts, but apparently not in this particular thread. As mentioned above, it's not a 'big' mod, it's such a silly little thing, but it's so unexpectedly nice to have the hood rise up all it's own when you lift it up an inch or so. Even more so when you have an aftermarket bumper with a briush guard thaat keeps you a bit further back, no more stretching.
