x2. and where do you order these? I checked the certifit website buy they didnt list any hoods in the inventory

From what ive heard they dont ship but to place a order i think were supposed to call it in. have you looked at the "in store catalog" ? the hoods are listed in it for $77.50 w/scoop

Where are you going to get the scoop insert? Toyota?

i havent looked around for the inserts yet, is toyota the best place? id imagine not price wise aha

they claim they are, after all they are aftermarket. Im pretty sure they are raw with no primer.they let you open it up and make sure it will work. if or when i go ( since the nearest warehouse is 2 hours from me) im going to measure everything out and inspect it to make sure everything is right.
ive been told many people here are actually currently running the hoods from certifit

So wait a minute here ... you are saying it is only $70 for the whole hood assembly, not just the wannbe scope that glues on?

I realize it won't be painted but that is still dirt cheap.

wait now im confused.. i know the hood is 70$ and the inserts are seperate from the dealer is about 125$. thats it right? or are you saying the actual scoop on the hood is extra?

The guts if you will. The hood comes bare no insulation or anything. Then the guts which is the mesh insert and the piece that bolts in are the expensive part. I plan on buying the hood. Finding some insulation to put on it and running it that way. No one would know the difference unless they got up close and looked in the scoop.

Right! That little thing does not need to be almost 200 dollars. But if you have dark paint you don't even need it.

yeah! i think im going to get the hood, paint it, put it on then get the scoop a paycheck later, that way i dont go broke all in one day haha

i dont think it does, i might be wrong.
my current hood has no padding, i havent checked if it is original tho

I've been trying to find the awnser to that. Some forums say they are primes and some say they are raw. When I have time I'm going to make a call to them
