Spotted thread!

Spotted a nice white 5th gen, lifted (?) on black wheels, tinted windows leaving Stadium parking by the OC Courthouse. Leaving the same time as me when my jury service was over at 4:15PM.
 
Spotted this fine looking 4Runner yesterday in Valencia.

Saw this nice rig when leaving a Starbuck's/Einstein Bros. Bagels parking lot at Beach Blvd. near the 405, Monday around 7:30 AM.
Wish I had time to check out that Pelfrey bumper fitment.

That bumper is legit right there ...that's probably the best bumper design I've seen for any gen 4Runner that's been made. Fits the body and style perfect doesn't look awkward and aftermarket like the rest ...
 
Spotted a white 5th gen around 12:35PM at Beach/Slater, had a roof rack and ladder.

Also spotted an all black 4th gen in the neighborhood near Newland/Hazard, black rims, general grabbers, lifted, lightbar on front bumper, tinted windows.
 
White 4th gen around 6:25AM this morning heading north on Valley View Blvd, making a right onto Ball Rd then a U-turn, I believe it was lifted with HID's and yellow fog lights.
 
Keep passing this loaded up and ready to go TRDPro in the Eagle Rock/ Silver Lake area of LA.

am i the only one that thinks it's a little ridiculous to have all that sh*t on your truck at all times? if you're not on your way to a 4X4 accessible campsite, why do you need a RTT, shovel, hi lift, etc. loaded up when commuting through LA?

The only thing I keep on my rack is the traction mats. The orange is easy to spot from a distance.

^This is what I was thinking too.
And I imagine it's not all that easy to uninstall/reinstall it. Easier to just keep it on.

I keep my shovel/axe removed, and only put them on when I hit the trail. I do keep my fuel containers up on the roof all the time though since, as TK-422 mentioned above, it's easier to spot the truck in a parking lot! lol

Some people may not have a place to store it other then on the vehicle it's intended for. I will be in that situation once I get my additions.

I can't personally vouch for it, because I don't have one, but have you tried to lift a 150-200 lb awkwardly shaped square onto your roof rack by yourself? The tent I can understand. Sometimes I get lazy after a trip out and don't feel like jumping up to take my shovel/axe/hi lift off so they commute for a day or three before I get around to it. I've been known to drive around with half my camping gear still in the cargo for a week or two too.
 
Are there any SD guys in the SoCal forum? There have been several times I've seen a very nice white 5th gen TRD Pro with rack, Tepui RTT, rotopax, sliders, etc. in the La Jolla/UTC area and a black 5th gen on Method wheels in the same area. There is also a BUILT silver 4th gen I've seen a few time driving through Rancho Penasquitos.
