I just tucked mine under the center console, and let it sit under the seat should I feel a need to change it just reach down and grab it. I tested for 2 days different settings and ended up red 5 and can't see a need or want to change it....maybe when I tow??

Yea, that will work also. Most that have said they don't need to hook the controller up end up doing it because it looks way cooler and actually nice in person.

So I've had this for a while (got if from JB, definitely great customer service so recommended to buy from him). I wasn't one of those that when I installed it immediately had a gasm like some of the YouTube reviewers out there, but after using it for a few weeks, it is definitely worth buying for sure. The biggest benefit is the immediate throttle response, not the fact that pushing the accelerator down less gets you more acceleration (although that is a plus too). Now when in a passing situation on the highway you need to pass you just press the accelerator and it goes. Same way at stop signs, once you stop and then press the gas you go without the delay. It's hard for me to fathom why Toyota programmed it that way out of the factory.

Second I've heard some of the negative reviews saying they didn't like how now when you press the gas down it would all of a sudden downshift too fast. That happened with me at first, but after you get used to it, it is much more controllable than before.

I also used the lock mode while on vacation and I like that feature. Gives a little more peace of mind that a theft won't be so easy. Of course if someone stealing the vehicle knew about the device they could just unplug it at the pedal, but if you are able to hide the controller it might take them a while to figure out that you have one. That's why I am considering putting it in my glove box. I just have to figure out how to do that while routing the wire around the heating element so it doesn't melt the wire.

yea! Ditto on those thoughts above! I honestly don't know how I ever drove this truck without it! You'll all know once you try it out.

Hahaha! :car: I do what I can, and this thing truly changed the whole truck. No longer a pig anymore and way more fun to drive, even if you don't get on it. Everything is just effortless, plus again I've now had about 5 people call me saying they are getting 1 more mpg. I don't promote this product for gas mileage gains, but it seems to help a little.

Again, all this is doing is fixing the gas pedal delay. All cars before 2003 that DIDN'T have drive by wire were way instant. The 5th gen tech is just way slower than most. Be sure to please watch the first 3 min of this to fully see what's happening. This will make you really understand what this does. And no, hitting the gas faster and harder on a truck without this, WILL NOT do the same thing.

If anyone is looking to buy SprintBooster and save some $$$ please PM. I have bought couple for myself and and my wife but my wife is not liking it. It was used for just couple days and all adhesives, etc have not been used.

So its been about 2 weeks now with the booster. My old average (hand calc) was 17.5mpg for my normal commutes. The 1st few days that average dropped according to the dash meter but only because I had trouble enjoying the throttle response and punched it often! by the end of week one I was at 17.5 still but only after slowing down to my driving style. Week 2 now just filled up an at 19mpg standard commute and hand calc. I do drive conservative but still enjoy the occasional punch it to pass a road dummy!
Sure at ~1 mpg better I can buy a lot of gas for the price of this unit but throttle responce is well worth the cost.
Besides, driving a 4runner is worth every damn mpg that we don't get!

Ok, that's super cool! I guess we can now say these DO HELP with gad mileage. You're now the 6-7th person that's told me this, and the others have say the same, about 1 more mpg and that's awesome.

I'm on green 7 also. Haven't found a need to switch to red.

Is there a reason to switch to red constantly? edit: besides personal preference. I supposed the more accurate question would be: For those running green 7 (or close to), in what instances would you switch to a red setting?

Green 7 here too most of the time. I dont like the high red numbers at all but have been playing around with Red #2 which is not much different then Green7. Need more time with it as I just recently installed mine as well.

Do you know if this model will likely work with the 2020's? I figure you will have to wait until one hits the streets, but due to the fact that Toyota didn't really make any mechanical changes, I am assuming most mods and accessories that work on the 2019's will also work on the 2020's.
