Took my truck on a 3 hour road trip. Sprint booster def makes driving a bit more fun now.
I have to get used to it a bit because I know find myself going 85-90 mph on the highway which will get me a ticket sooner than later. Loving it though.
I hate to say this, but issues seem to be operator error.
Everyone that has installed the SB here has not had any issues IIRC, only you.
Try it once more....
Did you reset the ECU by removing the NEG cable for 4 hours, then perform the install?
Once you have it set to desired setting, stop engine, remove keys & place on seat, unplug cable...easy peezy.
Try that, it will perform as intended.

While I have been known to make mistakes, in this case I think it's a faulty part.
I tried for the 3rd and last time to get it going tonight.
Followed the instructions exactly.
Turned key on, got the green light. Started truck and got the CEL + TRAC errors.
Poked around a bit more and realized that the sprint-booster connector that connects to the factory harness (not the pedal) wasn't fully seated. And, I was unable to seat it no matter what contortions I tried. It was at least 1/8" from seating, so I don't think the contacts were making much if any connection. That would explain things, I'd think.
Net: I'm putting this down to some manufacturing defect/variation in the connector not allowing it to mate completely with the factory harness.
Might be a 1-off. Don't know. Calling for a return auth tomorrow (crossing fingers). I'll have to flex my ankle and be my own sprint booster.
And, I've found myself using the transmission to downshift proactively when I want a bit more power.
Cheers. YMMV. Etc.
Once more, as I am trying to help you.....and you never answered or expressed you did this!
If you did not, the ECU is holding the codes!

I am sold and want to get one... but just curious on the legitimate online vendor of these.
Where is everyone getting them from?
https://www.sprintboostersales.com/ gave me a paypal vendor email error when I tried to check out...
While my truck was in the shop, I had a 2016 Grand Cherokee. This was the poverty spec rental version with the v6. I never felt like my 4Runner was "slow", but damn did it feel sluggish compared to the Jeep. That car felt like a rocket ship due to it's throttle mapping. I'm sold on the spirit booster at this point. I'll just wait for a sale on the v3.
I haven't seen them go "on sale" until a new version come out....
you may be waiting a while.......

I remember there was a sale last year around the holidays. I think it was 80-100 off.
What is the actual Sprint Booster part number for a 2016 4Runner?
