Sprint Booster

Yesterday, I ordered the Sprint Booster (via Jason's website). It'll go on my Cav Blu 2018 PRO.

I also own a 2008 Limited V8. Comparing it to my 2018 PRO - it gets off the line much, much quicker...so I'm hoping the Sprint Booster will equal/exceed what I "feel" in my 2008.

Looking forward to getting it and trying it out!

Cool, good deal. Please come back after you install with your feedback! This thing literally makes you say "Holy crap!" compared to how it was. No one believes me until AFTER they install it, but you'll see. :) You may end up wanting to try for your 4th gen too after you see the difference.

Got mine from Jason the other day, but been too busy to install it. Had a few things to also do to the T4R tonight and decided to do that, too. Install was a snap...

...HOLY BUCKETS!!! So much better response, smoother shifting and a bit more growl from the TRD Pro exhaust. This is how it should have been in the first place!!!

I wish you guys would add these reviews to my website also. Thanks, and glad you like it. It really makes the factory setup feel like a slug compared to this.

Jason is the sale still going on? Is the best way to order by calling?

Yes, go here:

I have read a lot of the positives, and but what are the negatives or potential pitfalls? I understand that it doesn't add horsepower - there is always that guy that repeats what has been discussed over and over. And by eliminating the delay to acceleration, you would have to improve your 0-60 time, you are literally taking a delay off - the definition of delay is literally "make (someone or something) late or slow". My question is for the mechanics in the room - I have a new Runner with less than 1k miles. I want to get one, but what could the negatives be to an engine by this product, and should I give the engine another 1k miles before I start hard revving this beast?

Thanks for any info

Zero Negatives to the Engine.

Was skeptical but works as advertised. If anything you don’t press the gas as much b/c it seems to trick the ecu that you are giving it more gas then you are. No more hesitation when passing. This is all on green 8. Anything below that you just don’t notice it much. Race/red is dumb, it’s like flooring it every time u touch the gas. Feels like it kicks down to passing gear instantly.

jdhunz Added to the site! Thank you. How's it running?

Like it should have been from the factory. I’m not mashing the throttle and it’s incredibly smooth acceleration. My wife drove it the other day and said it was much better. Happy wife, happy 4Runner life!!!

What have you found to be best setting?

I should know this but should ask! traded the 19 for a 20.
Will the booster work in a 20? just wondering with the safety crap they added

Best Setting Race 9

I've had the Sprint Booster for a few days now. Jason Burtman was quick to ship and a pleasure to deal with.

Race 9 is my favorite setting... unless you're wearing some heavy-ass boots you should be able to control your accelerations well. There is less guesswork involved in accelerating which has increased my MPG and confidence when trying to enter a highway/busy street. This has made it worth the cost for me.

Install took 15 minutes including leaving the door open for 10 minutes while CAN system checked for errors.

Driving someone who gets carsick easily? Turn it off. Driving any other time? It's safer and more fun to leave it in Race 9.

It's still not the same as my 1975 BMW with a cable, but the difference it makes for Drive-By-Wire cars is tangible and well worth the cost. You WILL FEEL the difference!

This is my best selling part for the 5th gen! The little sucker is incredible. Glad you like it.

Yes it will work for 2020! I've sold over 15 for 2020 :) Did you take it out of your 2019 before you sold it?

Yep, months of putting stuff in took 2 hours ripping back out! The booster took all of 2 minutes, would have been 1 if it wasn't so cramped down there!

Refreshed and back up to $289. Hard pass. LOL

I looked this morning and saw the same sale, only to find it has vanished upon my return home from work. That was a smoking deal. I swear I saw a sale countdown on the page this morning that said 7 days until the end. Ohh well..

How do you upgrade to the Latest firmware if we already own one?

Received my Sprint Booster a few days ago but still hesitant to put it on since I only have 600km on iit, so I’m assuming I should wait a bit long for break-in period. Really excited in putting it on from all the great feedback, but my only concern is will it affect the crawl control setting and any long term damage to the system. I plan to set my preference setting and disconnect the control, unless I need to keep the control attached and turn SB off every time I engage crawl control. Any thoughts?
