Sprint Booster

Received my Sprint Booster a few days ago but still hesitant to put it on since I only have 600km on iit, so I’m assuming I should wait a bit long for break-in period. Really excited in putting it on from all the great feedback, but my only concern is will it affect the crawl control setting and any long term damage to the system. I plan to set my preference setting and disconnect the control, unless I need to keep the control attached and turn SB off every time I engage crawl control. Any thoughts?

Agree, wait until your through break-in. Mine did not feel broken in and consistent until about 2500 miles (not KM).

Set the SB low, like Sport/green 3 and move it up to where you feel comfortable. Drive it for a day or do at each setting you pick so you know how it responds in a variety of situations. It reacts different in various situations do it’s a bit of a compromise.

I set mine at Sport 5 and removed the wire/controller. It works well in all conditions. I’ve used it in 4Hi and 4Lo at that setting no, no problems.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I definitely need to get back on the road to put on some mileage. How about using SB with crawl control since the system speed/throttle is automated?

Great feedback. I like it always on red, but these trucks have so much delay in them, some people aren't use to the red settings (it makes that much of a difference). You can always start on green, and move to red later as you get used to it.

Ordered the Sprint Booster from Jason (website) for my 2018 Cav Blue Pro...

Hoping it will bridge the gap between how my 2008 Limited V8 feels off the line versus how slow the 2018 is.

Sweet, glad to help ya out. Remember these will work for 2010- 2020 4Runners!

Also, I'm offering a 5 year warranty on this which no one else is doing.

I ordered my Sprint Booster on a Tuesday and got it by that Friday. And before Christmas. Which is saying something given that a lot of shipping was delayed due to all the packages near Christmas time.

I have been using my booster for about a week and a half now and am really pleased with it. When I first began driving with it I honestly wasn't sure if I had made a good decision buying it. I had set it on sport 5 and in the first miles of driving out of my neighborhood the 4runner responded much as it had without it. It was when I got into traffic I noticed a completely different feel. I had a car I wanted to pass b/c it was going slower than I liked, and I hit the gas. I really wasn't expecting the response I got. The 4runner took off, and instantly. So much so it made me feel that I should never put it on the red mode. LOL

I will be putting a lift and bigger wheels and tires on the rig soon and that will be another good test. I will try to give more feedback at that point too.

Overall, I would buy the product again. Super easy install and the customer service from Jason B is phenomenal.

Thanks, and happy to help you out. This thing really is a must on these trucks. These are also the latest firmware versions. Something else to note, is I'm also offering a 5 year warranty on these and ship EXPRESS UPS, etc.

Looking forward to trying this out. Spoke to Jason on the phone to order which was easy. Now just waiting for it to arrive. Hoping it lives up to expectations.

I installed one. It works and tricks the brain into thinking the truck has more power simply because the stock throttle has a lot of dead space in the middle where not much happens. It makes it more pleasurable to drive for sure, especially if you are used to faster or more responsive cars. Not 100% sure I’d buy it again, mostly because I think it should be way cheaper than it is.

What I did was after a few months of having it on I turned it off as a test. It's the bottom button on the controller to turn off. After I turned it off I then realized how crazy delayed it it and I cannot remove it now cause it's that much a difference

Jason:

Have you done any throttle position mapping yet? I'd love to see:

OEM commanded throttle position vs. actual throttle position at various points - compared to:

Sprint Booster throttle position vs. actual throttle position at various points. <--- I know this would very depending on the setting of the Sprint Booster, so maybe pick some midpoint setting.

I have a Sprint Booster and have noticed that my 4R does not decelerate like it used to. It’s as if the revs stay up and it can coast for much longer.

Is this normal or something I need to get checked?
