Squealing brakes

So we are getting some warmer weather here up north and decided to bring the window down for some fresh air and BAM squealing noise coming from the wheels. After trying to isolate the problem, I noticed that when I press on breaks the noise goes away immediately. Could this be another one of those not having the oem pads installed? I got the truck in december, and the sales guy told me they put new brakes but resurfaced the rotors.....

what do you guys think?

I have experienced this as well, only the squeal varies depending on speed and at some speeds it's not present at all, even on certain roads it doesn't happen. I got my front brakes done recently and the majority of the noise dissipated, but I think it's now coming from the rear set - but upon inspection, they're not even near being worn down yet.

This all happened when I took my runner into the stealership and had them perform some maintenance for me during the busy holiday season. I've heard it's possible for a sloppy tech to bend one of the little tabs and cause a small squeak, but I dunno if that's really the issue here.

Keep me posted if you learn anything man, it's annoying at times, thats for sure.

yeah definitely, the noise is an irritant for sure. If no one can pin point the problem in here, I will probably bring it in for inspection.....

Your calipers are probably siezed on one side. I just had this issue on my 4runner, there would be a squeal coming from the front wheels. At first I thought it was a wheel bearing or something but nothing got hot, no weird smells of a hot bearing or burning grease so I dismissed the thought of a bearing. Come to find out the calipers freezing is a common problem with our 4runners.

Do a search for it and you'll learn a bit more. I posted in one of the threads, you don't always have to get the same casting number that is on your caliper. Search for it and it is a little more elaborated in the threads.
