Starter Ground Wire Connector Bypass?

So I've been having intermittent trouble with the ground to my starter at the starter wiggling loose at the connector. I went to Toyota to see if they still make the cabe or the connector and they told me that I'd have to find one at a junkyard. Wondering if I could bypass the plastic connector and solder the ground directly to the starter. 22RE 4 cylinder, any thoughts? :keyboard:

The what now? There's no ground strap on the starter, it grounds to the engine block. You'll have two wires going to the starter, a smaller gauge with a spade connector that comes out of the harness under the intake plenum and a larger gauge with a ring terminal that comes from the battery. Is it the smaller wire you're having trouble with?

I had a machinist make me a adapter plate for a Chevy LS4 to a Boxster S transaxle, which all goes into a 914.

The machinist decided to use this starter for this Frankenstein:

It's just a spade connector. If you want that exact connector though you'll need to clip a used one off a harness.

Yep, a 1/4" female terminal would work just fine, however the guy building my wiring harness wants the plastic shell part.

Clip it off a harness, like KidV says ^^... at a junk yard or online stores (toyotapartsdeal... rock auto...) but I highly doubt if those places would go through the trouble of low-value, non-critical items.
