starting a build...in need of advice

so i have recently have crossed over from the jeep communtity and now the proud new owner of a 97' 4runner sr5 which is completely stock. being that i am new to the toyota community i feel like some of my knowlege is lacking so i am looking to y'all for some advice. i am looking to do an extensive build but i am starting with the lift. i was looking into the TOYTEC BOSS 3" complete kit with the Bilstein 5125 shocks combined with a 2" body lift. can anyone tell me if this is a good route to go(if not what route should i go) and is there anything additional that i will need to buy so i dont have problems down the proverbial road like a panhard drop and upper control arms or are those non-essential items.

any help or 2 cents you would like to chip in is appreciated.

I am running the suspension setup that you are looking at. I put it on the first of October 2013 and have put 26000 miles on it since.. Yeah I know my fuel bills are my wife's favorite thing to bring into a fight About money lol . But in all those miles in that short amount of time it has performed flawless.. And at least half of the miles are off road... I do predator control for ranchers. From what I can tell so far you can't go wrong with the toy tec setup It has taken a beating on my rig and is still as smooth as day one

did you use that kit alone or did you put a panhard drop on to go with it? and if i was really worried about fuel i would have bought a camry. but c'mon when was the last time you saw a camry in moab haha

I pieced together a set of Toytec front springs (3") and OME 891 rear springs along with Billy 5100 shocks. Its a very comfortable ride, I do a lot of highway miles with it as well. I opted for the Sonoran steel adjustable panhard after installing the lift. I am glad I did

I used the kit and added the extended brake lines and the panhard drop kit. Got it all from Toytec. And it all works well together, especially in Moab lol.
