Starting issue

So my 91 SR5 has no issues starting 499 out of 500 times. Every once in a blue moon, I step on the clutch, turn they key and get absolutely nothing. Of course this happens at the most inconvient times. A quick pop of the clutch and I am on my way. Can anyone tell me where the switch in the clutch that engages the starter is so I can check it?

I'm not familiar with the 2nd gen 4runners but on most vehicles it's on the clutch pedal assembly. Take a quick look at your clutch pedal arm and you should see a little tab coming off of it that will hit a switch when the pedal is pushed down.

The switch is right as the top of the clutch pedal assembly. You should also have a clutch override switch on the far left of your dash--this is designed for trail use, so you can start in gear, but it will do in a pinch when the interlock messes with you.
