Like some of the guys on this thread. My steering wheel on my 98 was toast. I don't want leather so I found a Urethane version off a 98 4 banger base model. I swapped out my airbag and it's good as new.

Yep, my 99 steering wheel still looks brand new. My center console cover is also vinyl & looks brand new. The leather in these trucks take too much abuse.
I love leather...in a luxury car. My 09 Accord Coupe EXL is all leather, the center console cover is shot. The heated seats in the winter are awesome.

The foam at 12 o'clock on my wheel is chewed into pretty bad. I might just order a complete steering wheel off of eBay

That same thing happend to my 97 runner. Ended up replacing it because it bugged the crap out of me

I'm very happy with the results. It does take a little work and some patience.

Ordered a replacement factory steering wheel off eBay today, OBO for $50 delivered.

I will determine if I need to rewrap it when I receive it.
