steering wheel cracking

I went off roading over the weekend, on the way back home everything was normal
When I go rinse off my frame about a hour after returning home I took it for a drive ,and the steering had a obvious noise like something rubbing which turned into a clicking noise

It sounds like it's coming from right behind the steering wheel/column area , there's no noise in the front end just the steering wheel

My driving is not affected at all still drives the same but the noise is pretty bad, it happens only when turning the wheel

I took a video, any help appreciated
Thanks!

Both do not work I'm gonna replace it.
Are these no good after they been in a front end accident where the airbag deployed?

I've never heard anyone say a deployed airbag damaged a spiral cable. I don't think it would. You never know though.

Happens all the time! Not sure if it applies to third gens, but in general when replacing air bags we replaced the spiral cable too. Sometimes insurance would balk, but usually the mfg recommends it so it was just replaced. Because otherwise you have to do the job again!
