Steering wheel re-cover and cold tranny issue

I figured I'd get both of my questions in one thread. lol

First is did anyone ever re-cover the steering wheel? Mine is pretty beat up on the top and down to the foam. I'm guessing from it's life in a hot climate took its toll. I have good hookups with parts discounts but it seem like it would be tedious to do.

Secondly, when the truck is cold under normal driving my trans holds 3rd a bit long. Once it's warmed up it will drop into 4th. Still very smooth shifting on both accounts but I want to make sure it's not a precursor to something more serious.

Get an autozone wheel cover

Those wheel covers are so ghetto though. I've had them over the years and they're always falling apart or slipping no matter how tight you put it on. haha

I was wondering if that gear holding was a feature. Good to know. Thanks.

There are a few threads with people wrapping their steering wheels with covers you actually stitch on... I think they look horrid, but they seem popular.

I think it's wheel skins or something like that...
