Steering Wheel Swap

If a guy wanted to swap a steering wheel from a Celica into a 4Runner....other than getting bent over at the dealer for the cost.....would this be possible? (air bag issues, etc????)

why a celica? the Camry SE have a very nice 3 spoke steering wheel also! I think the celica wheel is a little smaller then the stock. but it you have money anything is possible.

Well, first you have to make sure the two steering wheels have the same bolt points. I'm guessing they don't since the 4Runner is a 4-spoke design and the Celica has a 3-spoke design. If it does fit, you'll need a new airbag, which may or may not work with your 4Runner. But hey, anything's possible, it may just fit perfectly.

I've been eyeing one of these, but can't justify spending the cost for a new airbag in addition to adding the audio controls.

That wheel is what got me thinking....but there is no other wood n the car so I dont think it "wood" look good.

Yeah, I'm not feeling the wood either, if I had a Limited with the wood trim, it would make more sense.

I wasn't aware that a wood trim option existed? I have a Limited and the interior is some kind of "granite" look.

That's what I meant, the granite look. Sorry for the confusion.

I think the black wood on the wheel would match well, but that's just my opinion.

I'm interested for curiosity's sake in this. The Celica wheelw ould look odd because it's black. There is no black in the 4Runner except the buttons. It's dark grey/light grey right?

I would be scared as hell to touch the airbag system. The explosive force contained in the center of the wheel is like playing with a hand grenade.

Maybe it's some simple procedure but good luck with it
