Stock tires on new 4Runner, What are they?

I have a new 2013 4Runner Limited and I wondering what type of tires they are...as in, what are they designed for? They don't look like snow, or traction type tires. They look more like high performance speed tires.

I had a set of all purpose Michelin tires on my old Ford Explorer and they were amazing on everything from mild off-road driving to rain and snow. They were a bit knobby looking, but provided and excellent and smooth highway ride. Is there anything like that for the 4Runner or are these tires that type of thing?

They are designed to be replaced as soon as you sell them and the rims they came on... if you keep the rims, your choices are limited to a few options. Use search and you will find a few different options people have used to replace the OEM junklanders. They are really just street tires. Not designed for speed or offroading. They are just blech.

The rims look great though! I'm not looking to do off-roading, but I am looking for a really good all weather tire that has a bit of grip to it. Any suggestions that will work with the current rims?

I will be using them for mostly road driving and would like to have a tire for all weather conditions including snow. I infrequently tow 3000k RVs, but when I do it's for long distances and sometimes go off-road (mostly water and mud) to go fishing on the same RV trips. What type of rated tire should I get?

Rim size is always on a tire preceded with an "R." It is the third number in a tire size scheme. As in P245/55 R20. What isn't there is the width which is an odd choice of 7 inches, giving it quite an awkward sizing.

Goodyear makes a A/T for a 20x7 wheel...there only $330 each uke:

Yeah, this tire looks great for the LE, but TireRack rep I spoke with says it will rub when turning, making me hesitate. Anyone using it, yet? Feedback, if so.

Looks like tirerack has updated the specs since then and now shows a minimum of a 7.5" wheel.
