I'm thinking some OME 861's. With the weight of the tent, bumper, etc. the 9 wraps aren't cutting it. Especially after seeing the success you, Brian2sun, and others have had with them, I feel like they'll really help me out when I'm loaded down.

I love my 861's, so will you with all the weight you carry.

I saw your post on BFAD's build, I bought mine through Toytec.

Thanks for chiming in, so far I'm not aware of anybody using 861's that hasn't been completely satisfied from them.

I'll probably end up getting them from Toytec, gotta support the small business when you can.

After all my traveling, my KM2's are nearly shot. It's been just about a year, and I've got close to 25k on them. They'll give me another 5k, but time to start thinking about new tires.

I'm also looking into some new wheels. I like my black steelies, but it would be nice for a change too. I'm also thinking about getting 2 sets, one for 33 duratracs, and another for 35 KM2's. Here are my choices:

Super Single Typhoons - They were on my brother's Chevy for a while, and have been sitting in our barn for years. I like the look of them, but I have never seen them on a tire, on my rig. So it's a tough call, but I like the look of them.

They are a bit wide, not quite sure of the offset. Hopefully I'll find a junk 33 or 35 to throw on it so I can better see how it looks.

LC 80 wheels, gunmetal gray - I tested a buddy's wheel, and I loved it. Love the look and color, and how it looks with the 4runner color. Only problem is I don't know how the paint will hold up on the trail, I may use this set for my all terrains if I end up getting them at all.

This is with a 35 btw

Option 3 - keep the black steelies, which I may do anyway.


Any opinions on these choices?

Yeah, they are way wide. And they have no markings on them, and their tag on the inside is illegible now. So I have no way of knowing their exact dimensions.

You can take measurements and calculate the specs on the rim pretty simply without a tire mounted.

Red line are hub "inside" rim...

Measurements:

A= rim width (inner bead to inner bead) From the photo I would guess 9.5"-10" ball park
D= rim diameter (tire bead to tire bead) pretty self explanitory

Offset gets a little tricker: (I came from a "stance" crowd so I do offsets in ET rather than backspacing, but you can convert the two easily, most rims are given in ET that I am familiar with, which is in millimeters)

B=Rim face to rim face (most extremes in mm's)
C=Inner rim face to inside hub face (in mm's)

ET=C-(B/2)

Stock offset on my OEM trispoke 16's were ET15, offset on the 17" taco wheels I got were ET30, so they sat further in the fender more until I got 1.25" spacers which simulated close to a ET0 rim, pushing the rim 15mm further out of the fender over stock

I like the LC's the best, but the free Chevy rims aren't horrible and are free.

I hope someone else can chime in and verify/correct me, but isn't there a fitment issue with the LC rims if you ever decide to do a tundra brake kit up front? Just some future-proofing...

To be honest, I don't like the Chevy rims at all, too blingy in my opinion... also they are pretty wide, as others have said.

I like your existing ones a lot, that's the kind I would get if I decided to upgrade my wheels. LCs look great too, so I would go with one or both of the two...

I agree they are a bit different. I like the way they look on older domestic trucks, but not sure how I feel about them on a SUV, especially a darker one like mine.

I'll probably be keeping my steelies no matter what. I'd hardly get anything for them if I sold them.

I'm going to find a crappy 35 to mount to one of the typhoons just for the heck of it. When I do I'll put up a pic of it on, and hopefully somebody will photoshop it. You've got me wondering about that too.

Old man. I wouldn't put it on your truck. Maybe inside where not everyone can see it. It's definitely cool to see where you have been, not so cool on the outside.

Go for it, I think you could make some cooler state stickers though rather than just solid colors. Almost looks like the blacktop at an elementary school playground. I think if you switched it up it could be cool. Just make it different lol

I'm leaning on getting it. And I'm with ya Connor, I'd never stick that thing on my rig. But since it would be on the tent, which is only on the roof when I'm camping, I thought it would be pretty cool. Give me more motivation to get out and explore!

I'd definitely customize it somehow. I'll have to think on that one...
