Here is a crappy idea of what it would look like.

Maybe it would look better if it wasn't a solid sticker, and only the outlines of the states. That way there wouldn't be a solid white mass of all the states I haven't been to.

Picked up some goodies from a partout today. Will all be going in within the next few days.

And the tent will be going back on soon for summer. Figured out my states sticker and will be ordering that soon. Not sure where on the tent it's going yet, but it will look like this.

Overall, the light output is a little better off to the sides than the old ones, but other than that not much improvement. Was to be expected though. They look ok, just didn't wow me with looks like I kinda expected. Oh well, I'll keep the old lights for now in case I get an itch for another mod and need a quick 100 bucks lol.

The headlights look great....but what really caught my eye was the orange and sedona red toys in the garage. What a sweet little set up! Rig is looking awesome as always!

Thanks! Those are pretty awesome too, they are my brothers toys, but I do get to have fun with them every now and then.

Maybe one of these days, if funds allow! Yeah wish you could have come out, except you didn't miss a whole lot. Once more of the trails are open this summer I'm sure we'll be making the best of it.

Got my HID offroad lights wired up to my new headlight/foglight combo switch from the 99 partout.

The reason for this is to save value switch space on my dash. I'm planning on getting an ARB front locker and compressor down the road, as well as an LED lighbar or two. I don't have the space for all those switches on my dash to the left of the steering wheel, so this is an easy way to save up some switch room. Since I don't have factory foglights, it is easy to just wire up my offroad lights to this factory foglight switch on the column.

This was super easy to do, since the combo switches from both my 97 and the 99 had the same plug for the wiring harness. The only difference was my old 97 harness was missing 2 pins in the plug for the lights.

All I had to do was look at the pins in the 99 harness, then compare it to the pins in the 97. The 97 had 2 less pins in the harness, so I knew these were for the pins for the positive and negative for the light switch. Here are the two empty pins on the 97 switch harness that need to have wires connected in order for the lights to work. The larger pin is positive, the smaller is negative.

All wired up, installed and one less dash switch to worry about!

Also fixed my rear seatbelt. It stopped retracting years ago, so as a solution I just tied it in a knot to fit about a person my size. This meant you were buckled in, but couldn't move at all. My friends won't be fighting over who has to sit in the rear passenger seat anymore!

Sweet little mod with the factory headlight/fog combo light column lever. I have mine wired up to my front led fogs. I'm in the same boat as far as running out of switch room goes. I've got one left and already fab'd in the carling 3 switch holder. Rig is looking great!

Thanks bud, I pretty much decided to do this because of your build. I knew I'd probably eventually have the same goodies to switch on and off as you have, so I had to do something. I've been eyeing that carling switch holder, you got me thinking about that too. The last thing I want to happen is buy all these new toys for my rig, and have no place to put a switch.

Well I think you and me are in the same boat as far as weight most of the time. We both have our tire carriers and bumpers, and most of the time the 9 wraps are great. I love them and they do great offroad. But once I throw my tent on the roof, jerry cans on the rack, load up my rear drawers and pack for a long road trip they start sagging like crazy. See what I mean?? Lol

That does have a tasty amount of sag to it haha. So far my 9 wraps have held up to any amount of camping gear I've thrown at them. But then again my trips are weeklong wheeling trips and there is always more than one truck so we split gear. I can see how it can add up if it was all in one truck.

But you know what I think would be a better way to deal with that sag? Giving me that Tepui. Then you wouldn't have as much weight to worry about. :biggrin2:

Tempting. Having no tires would give me an excuse to step up to 315s... but I might have to pass, I enjoy not having to worry about putting a hole in my oil pan!

I concur. Swapping out my 8-wraps has never crossed my mind (albeit the spring rate is supposed to be slightly higher than those 9-wraps, but shorter in length). I think they ride beautifully in town and have sagged only slightly when fully loaded for wheeling/camping.

Although, that RTT may be the straw that breaks the camels back. Either way, I've heard nothing but great shiz about the 861's and I'm sure stockwell is going to put them to good use. I look forward to another comparative review.

EDIT: Great move on the new fog light switch idea. I may need to copy that if I can come across a (99+?) signal/fog light stick.

I made the switch to OME 861's. I wish I would've started with them. Currently running with Tokico blacks. Rides great, and rides even better when loaded down with all my gear. Will be a perfect match for your setup.

Sweet rig man. Too bad I can't go wheelin anytime soon. I've been wanting to make a long trip out west but who has the money for that xD just spent $1500 fixing my truck and paying a fine for killing a fire hydrant on my block.
