Well, using the scientific method of putting a piece of paper on my screen and marking 2 tic marks on the width of Kenny's cable, and then measuring those tic marks on his tape measure since it should be proportional, it is just over 9.5mm.

What I don't like about the trimax is that you are forced to use their locking mechanism. I saw a video on youtube of a guy picking a bike chain lock (the kind with the lock attached to the cable) in about 3 seconds flat. Masterlock I think may be a bit more reputable. Still, I'm not sure that an extra .1 of an inch looking cable will deter more than his. Decisions decisions! Both however are very good options, Kenny how much did you pay for your setup?

If that trimax lock is like a Kryptonite lock with the cylinder keys, it can be picked with a BIC pen. Many who lock up their bikes don't like the Kryptonite locks because of the insecurity.

well just got my spare stolen from my 07 sport in the chicago area..

anybody see a 17" rim with tire for sale?

they cut if off just like most peoples and just left the cable hanging.

what has everyone done with replacing the cable tire winch? dealer or has anyone purchased yourself and just installed it on your own?

i do indeed plan on buying a lock for it this time around.. but kind of need a rim and tire first.

all i found on ebay were full sets.

if someone steals mine, they can have it. i'll just buy a new one. BUT if i ever catch that theif or thieves, there will be consequences.

Yea but they damage your winch in the process. That's gotta be a pain in the butt to find and replace.
 
Mine just stolen too.

Nov 9th 2008, my spare was just stolen in Chicago. Sorry to hear you suffered throught this as well. By the way, I didnt realize it for three days until i went get my 1000 mile service from Toyota. Talk about bad news. They said its 1500.00 for everything if you do it through Toyota. 500 for spare/rim + whatever else is missing + labor. I am going with the 250 deductible and hoping to fix it on my own. At least i had insurance.
 
Screw getting a lock. When I finally get a replacement, I am going to sit at my desk and think of ways to boobie-trap my new spare tire using Razors, mace, acid, possibly hand grenades.

Sadly you live in one of the Cities in America where the thugs the thieves also murders, are defended, and you and honest citizen have no legal rights or anylegal way to defend yourself or your property.
You can't carry a handgun or use a rifle for self defence not even a small club, even it someone is about to kill you.

You boobie-trap that spare tire in your City and someone cuts their little finger and your in BIG trouble.

Better rethink my plan of using a aircraft quality cable and a good round key pad lock.:)
