I get 22MPG but 95% of it is Highway miles. Its on both my '98 and '99, both 4bangers (2.7L). I like driving the '98 better idk why. They both run the KYB Gas-A-Just Shocks all around. I'm running mediocre Hankook all season tires 235s. Not bad. I get 350+ on my tank. The best MPG that I have done is 24.5 when I went through the desert and it was flat. It was perfect morning weather and a clean air filter that gave me that MPG.

Wow that's impressive. I see in your profile pic though you upgraded to a 5th gen. I love the look of the newest version of the 5th gens. They look a lot like a 3rd gen and sit high like a 3rd gen, unlike the 4th gen. The face on the newest 5th gen really looks mean also. I'd love to get a 5th gen eventually.

5th gen is a very comfortable rig and is huge interior-wise. Fuel econ isn't great, but the utility (3rd row seats) for our family makes it a winner.

It was! Ever since a coworker and I discovered this place 3 weeks ago we've been going there every Taco Tuesday (20% off tacos)

$5k MORE than you bought it for? That's impressive. I bought my Si with 8,200 miles in 2000 for $16,000. I sold it in 2014 with 105,000 miles for $8,200. Luckily, mine was never stolen.

To keep this gas-related... I also drove a '93 Civic DX for a commuter. I would keep the tires pumped up to 40 psi It had an 11.9 gallon gas tank. I once babied it into a gas station, just praying that it wouldn't die on me. The odometer read 510 miles for that tank. I pumped gas and it clicked off at 9.99 gallons

I'm an idiot,I meant $5k more than my payout,not total cost :doh: I forget what I originally paid it for,but the payout was $9k and change and sold it for $14,750.

Back to the gas topic,several years back I discovered my Tundra's low fuel warning stopped working the hard way. As I wondered why the hell the light hasn't turned on yet it began hesitating then died as I got into the gas station entrance,luckily had enough momentum to coast into the pump area.

My 2000 Tundra work truck(4.7 L V8) gets 10.5, city driving.

I had a VW Rabbit truck with the diesel engine that got 48, that was a long time ago.

Last night I had grilled mahi mahi tacos for dinner with beef barbacoa nachos as an appetizer,was pretty surprised I didn't get gas.

I also owned a 2000 Si,no gas stories. Sold it for $5k more than I bought it for,6 months into the new ownership it was stolen and never recovered.

4Runner-related, I've driven well over 340 miles on a full tank several times, mostly highway. Just search my old posts,I won't bore you with the details here.

I had Taco Bell yesterday. I too, failed to have gas.

my personal record was driving up from northeast MA to northern bumf**k NY to Clarkson University where I went to engineering school. had only owned her for about a month, drove her gently up highway 89 and across northern NY, 89 is very hilly, and our OD gearing doesn't like it much, but ~60mph through farm land in upper NY is good. managed 350 miles off of one tank, definitely was stretching it and rolled in on fumes. and if I remember correctly, I was only topping off 1 gallon at that time, hadn't started topping off 2 gallons yet. Hasn't happened again since

just replaced spark plugs, wires, and boots, along with air filter, and ran some lucas fuel injector cleaner in this tank. going to replace PCV valve and grommet as well. thinking about changing diff oil, and would like to do transmission fluid replacement. all of this is before my ~3000 mile road trip with the lady friend through florida down to key west and back, im hoping to go from 15mpg currently, to maybe 16mpg. (thats with 33's and a 3" lift)
