As far as pricing goes, I’ll let the California members price it for ya. I was hoping your ride would make it to at least 500,000 miles. Still looks great.

I was going to replace the engine at my leisure, but I suddenly found myself moving out of state and I’m already going to be pulling a trailer. But I may store it if I have to and just come back for it later if I don’t find a buyer.

I don’t know man, I’m seriously considering making a second trip and just trailering my runner to my new home and dropping a replacement engine in her

I don’t want to get rid of her, plus the F**kwits I’ve delt with from craigslist are so annoying I pretty much would rather just push it off a cliff than sell it to them. Seriously thinking about keeping it again so might just be sticking around after all...

Would be good if you could keep it. Straight rust free chassis and body with locker......and a motor swap is not so bad or super expensive if you work it in a good way. It'll be more expensive to get back into another.

I was reading your post and I have been working on a frame up/restore but I lack a good body, I have a sketchy one that is rusty and you can see thru the floor in places.

I wanted to PM you and come get it but... not in the cards for right now. totally would have done it.

keep it, like dogtails say it's rust free and it has your smell all over it.

I have a cali 1999 engine sitting here that is a spare. could totally swap that engine in over a weekend. depends on how bad it leaks oil or the seals but will cost you about 500-800 for a freshly sealed up engine with new timing set new exhaust gaskets/studs. decent salvage engine can be found pretty easy.

Never done an engine swap so I think it’s time I start researching it. I’m sure I could swap out the head gasket too real easy since I shut the engine down literally within minutes of detecting the misfire, so no engine damage is likely I think, but still, at damn near half a million miles...seems smarter to just swap it out. Plus swapping engines seems more interesting to me.

If I swap engines though, I’m going to tear into the old engine and see just what the inside of a 440k 3.4L engine looks like.

Yeah should be interesting! Once I get it situated I’ll start looking for another engine. Might as well replace the carpet and other cosmetic stuff before then until I find another engine and get set up proper.

Saw a white 4Runner with over 600,000 on the odo at the junkyard yesterday, made me think of yours. Glad you're gonna give it a go.
