so today, i decided to be fat and get a milkshake after dinner and while leaving, ran over a huge nail..bolt (i'll update with a pic later). it may be too big to plug so i have to replace it.. i found a used tired for 116 on ebay to match.. i'm also pondering just upgrading all 4.. im not sure if i should or just wait till i get wheels n tires along with a lift later on at some point.. what do you guys think.. ps any of you happen to have a tire laying around?

I had a 1/4" or 3/8" bolt go right into my last set of Duratracs. It plugged and held without issue. I even sold them for $300 for the set after I bought them already used from Joneseyyy and I put another 20k on them!
 
This is why I carry my patch kit and Overland heavy duty compressor. Patching a tire on a trail is much easier than messing with a mismatched spare.

well, i've plugged the tire... we'll see how it holds.. i'm driving to Ocean City in a few hours lol... guess i'll take my plug kit with me and hope there's an air compressor nearby if it fails.
 
I had this go through the center of the tread and out the side-wall of one of the brand new Continental CrossContact LX20's (275/55/20's) I had put on my '11 LE within a 1/2 mile of the place that mounted and balanced them.

Anyway -- had the road hazard coverage and got a new tire. If you want to keep your stock LE 7 inch wheels and go with a bigger tire that will fit properly the CrossContact LX20's are a good choice. So far I really like them. Ride is more sure-footed and there's an improvement and handling and road feel. Plus, they look way better and fit the size of the vehicle.

Wow.... that sucks... i'd be soo mad.. glad you had that road hazard package....what size tires did you use and where did u get them from? thanks

Yeah, it did suck considering I was leaving for a vacation down in OBX that coming weekend. Luckily got the old tires put back on before the trip.

I got 275/55/60 Continental CrossContact LX20's from Tirerack.com. It's an all-season tire. I know a lot of peeps on here like going the A/T route,..I like the looks of them too but 95% of my driving is on pavement so this was the best way to go for me. Didn't want to shell out the dough for new wheels, and I actually like the way the stock LE wheels look.
 
I had a bolt in my right rear the day after I installed my Falken Wild Peaks on my TE. Pulled it out and luckily it did not penetrate past the steel belts.

You might be lucky as well.
 
I guess the road protection program that good year offers is worth it.. when i get my duratracs thats what i'm going to do.
