Stupid question about TPS tire pressure sensors on my SR5

I have TPS sensors in my wheels but I have yet to see a digital readout in or dash. When I changed my tires out the other day and after I let all of the air of a tire I turned on the ignition to see if I had a low tire pressure warning light or buzzer............Nothing! Maybe I should read the owners manual?? :hiding:

Did you buy it used? Maybe the previous owner was using different wheels for off road and disabled the warning light?

I bought it new.....My corvette had a display showing the air pressure in each tire with a warning system when they get low. I have yet to find anything any display or warning for low tire pressure. I guess I need to get the book out!

Are you sure you still have the sensors?

So I got the 4th Gen 4runner when it first came and I took it to discount tires to put more aggressive tires on it and they changed out the valve stems... I didn't even know about the TPS....and neither did they :redbrick: I drove around for a couple days then my low pressure light went on, after trying to fill and adjust the pressure with no fix i went to the dealer and I sat there for a hour they came out and said the problem is your sensors are gone... We can replace them and mount them for I think $200-$300... Lesson learned:rtfm:... I really hope that is not your problem

There is no read out, only an idiot light that lights up. It will take it a minute or so to come on.

If you have Techstream, you can see the exact pressure in each tire, as well as temperature, and other info.

When hooked up to Techstream I found the TPMS sensors to be impressive. They read about .6psi lower than a fairly accurate dial guage I use.
Too bad this info isn't available in the dash or nav.

or...would be nice to bluetooth it to your smartphone when you're airing up.
