Subs in the floor!!

Interesting... you mean up in the dash firing down towards the passenger foot well area?

It was firing upward, i did see them weld a box and it was enclose with the firewall.

My uncle did the same thing on his 350z . He put a illusion audio sub in the pass side floor, and one big one in the trunk. Very nice custom work, did u add any dynamat to the box you made?

How do you like those SI subs?

Im impressed by the amount of room behind the seats of a Crewmax. But Im sure if the OP had a Crewmax, he probably wouldnt need to put subs in the floor.

Im not a SQ guy, but because of the way those subs are designed the excursion of the subwoofer is very linear and it is one of the most accurate sounding subwoofers that I have heard. The customer really liked it, in addition to that enclosure behind the back seat we sound deadened the entire interior except for the roof, we installed the Pioneer Stage 4 head unit. This Tundra is one of the cleanest sounding installs that I have done. I can't wait to get started on the sound system in my 4runner. I will post up pictures as I make more progress on it. its not going to be anything too crazy probably 2 PDX amps type r component and coaxials all the way around. I will Sound deaden all 4 doors and I will make a custom mount subwoofer enclosure above the rear passenger wheel well with probably a type R 10inch thin subwoofer.

The MDF inside of the steel box did two things. First, it gives a mount for the speakers. Second, a metal sub enclosure would make a horrible noise with the sound waves. The MDF along with a little bit of padding baffles it and allows the sub to make a clean crisp sound.

WOW that is a great job!!! That my friend is getting it done. Reminds me of a couple years ago I took a sawzall to my C5 vette to get a double din to fit. Well done Sir thanks for posting!!
