Successful Key Swap: 5th Gen & Flip Key

Last time I looked replacement batteries for these things are dirt cheap.

Question for ya on the Camry key. The trunk button on the Camry key will work for the rear window just like our OEM key?

I guess I need to go read my TS and brush up on my key code programming.

Sure you can but changing it weekly would be bothersome.

So it is a problem with the remote draining the battery? Have you replaced to see if a decent brand battery holds a charge?

I replaced it one time, but it also died in about two weeks..

[MENTION=131453]Eerlumni[/MENTION] - I ordered mine from Wholesale-24-7. For a whole year I had no issues. When the battery died, I replaced it. Unfortunately, the new battery only lasted for about a week.

I'm back to my original key and fob because I haven't had time to tinker with the fob portion to find the short.

The key code, 4D-67, will start your car, but the fob won't work, so what's the point...

I don’t really like having the key all in one like our 5th gens come. Is there a way to program a 4th gen FOB to work on our 5th gens. Ending up with my regular key and a separate fob?

Hate to revive a super old thread, but I havent been able to locate a similar key-remote fob combo like the ones shared in the original post.

I've been searching for anything with an FCC ID of hyq12bbx but all i've been able to locate are keys with an FCC ID of hyq12bby

Yes i understand but seems to work same way as with a meso or ajt key where you use internals of existing key.
