Sunroof Sliding Back all the way

So I have a 2012 TE and when I hit the button to slide the sunroof open it stops 1-2 inches from fully open. This doesn't happen on my wife's 2010 SR5. Anyone else noticing this?

Yes, same thing happens on my 2012 Trail. Have to hit the switch again to get it to go the final inch. :shrug:

Almost all toyotas do this. My Scion tC did it too.

Ah true. My 3rd gen stops halfway (50/50).

It's the (90/10) split in the 5th gen that's perplexing. E.g. it's gone that far already, why not just go all the way?

Hmm. Maybe it has something to do with wind turbulence? Perhaps that last amount it has to travel increases drag/noise in the cabin? I really haven't tested this on the highway. Perhaps I'll do that this week.

Pretty sure it's the noise level thing. I don't notice it as much in the T4R, however the tC the sunroof glass would have a slight rattle at full extension.

I remember this well. Back in the day (two vehicles and 4+ years ago) I owned a supercharged tC.

If you put the sunroof all the way back, it lessens nose dive......Toyota did not want that! :banana:

Pre programmed to do that to keep "wind noise" at the lowest level while open. Manual states this is normal. Merely hit the button again for the last bit of sunshine!

+1. My 06 Tundra SR5 did it, but my 2011 Limited 4R doesn't.

After reading this thread I was excited to try this. I go out to my vehicle and my sun roof only goes back as far as it initially does. Pressing the button a second time doesn't make it go back any farther. :/
