Supercharger install pending, need a little help/clarification

Most of what I have read, says .043, whether or not the 7th injector is installed. My IK22's were around .032 when I got them.

I have 95% of my parts...just waiting on one or two more to come in. Then I can install my S/C!! These questions...I'm sure will help tremendously! So, keep up all the good questions...that will save me from asking...lol!! :snacker:

Good luck on your installs

Yeah I haven't had any misfirings or running rough, so I'll leave them for now.

BTW, I'll be adding some info from this thread to the supercharger thread for easy future access.

I have mine at .043 but I've also read where people have there's at .032 and been fine. Like SCRunner, he says his is at .032 and runs fine.
ya, I measured one of the extra plugs, wanna guess what it is gapped at? Ya, .032...those bastards at denso either don't know their own product, or just have poor quality control.

Thanks. As of now, I'm done for the night. Supercharger is all mounted and bolted up. I'm waiting on my S/C belt and T/B gasket to come in tomorrow morning to finish up the install. All I need to do is install the belts, bolt up the T/B again and put my K&N back on.

Awesome!! Also, I realized that NO where does it say in any of the threads I've seen that you just reuse your upper T/B studs(for 2001^), luckily I figured it when I couldn't find the bolts I thought I had. The install was actually way easier than I had thought it would be. Also, the directions from Toyota for the 2001 and up are wrong for the 4Runners. The diagrams show a "T" for the 4wd VSV from the EVAP line...my lines don't have that at all. I have electric actuators, not vacuum actuated so that line doesn't exist for me...? So ya, that took me a hot second to comprehend. image.jpg

having the two small brackets made along with the drivers side mount spacer.

Where are you having these made? I'm mainly interested in the manifold spacer. I know I can just use washers but I'd like a cleaner solution. I've searched and haven't been able to find dimensions for that spacer...

Are you having someone else make these parts for you? If so, are they willing to make more? The reason I'm asking is: I too am missing these parts. I was going to fabricate my own...but time is short. Be much easier to just buy them.

How much are they charging you! Thanks for the help!

For the moment, I put washers on there. I have a local shop that will make it for me. My work has a supercharged 4Runner for sale that I am stealing the spacer off of to get dimensions so I can have mine made. I'll post exact dimensions of the spacer to be added to the thread. As for the wire harness relocation bracket and the oil dipstick relocation bracket I'm fabbing them myself. The wire harness relocation bracket was easy, I just used an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel and modified the factory bracket to fit. The oil dipstick I just went to home depo and bought a strip of metal and I'm going to cut it to length, round the edges, and drill the holes. I'll post dimensions of this bracket as well. I pulled this bracket off the car at my work and traced it on to a piece of paper so
I could duplicate it. After I have my spacer made I'll let you guys know the cost and if you want some made I'll be happy to help get them made for you as well.

Awesome! Those dims would be really handy to have posted. I don't mind fabbing up simple brackets but its nice to be able to do it beforehand and know they're right and ready for install time.

Just curious, what is the wire relocation bracket? I didn't have anything like that.

It's a small bracket that looks almost identical to the dipstick bracket and moves the wires passing behind the tensioner plate further back/onto the opposite side of the bracket so it is away from the dynamic tensioner and pulley. The factory one and the TRD one both mount to the top drivers side bolt of the thermostat housing. Here's a pic of my modified factory one installed. image.jpg

Ok thanks. I went and just checked mine and my wire loom isn't even attached to the bracket anymore, must of come undone when I did my timing belt. But now because of the dipstick being pushed over, it's pressing the wire loom against the thermostat housing. It doesn't look like it's messed it up but I should probably still fix it.

Is your bracket the factory one that's like a brass ish color or is it the black TRD one?

Thanks a lot Shane!!! That will help me immensely!! That's so cool that you have a S/C 4Runner to look at, to see all the parts that are needed. That was one of my biggest problems...I know I need this bracket...I see what it looks like in the instruction book... but I have no idea what the dimensions are! I was going to just guess at making one, when I did my install.

Now, thanks to you Shane...I'll have the correct parts. All I have to say is....Shane, your my Hero!! Heck, I might even have to put you on my Christmas card list...lol!! :biggrin2:

We'll be looking forward to the dimensions and a price of the spacer. :hungry:

It's the factory one. I just put on the supercharger like 4 months ago. I ordered the install kit and it came with the dipstick bracket but not the wire bracket. I hadn't even heard about the wire bracket, or read about it in the installation instructions.

Edit: I just looked at the installation instructions again and it does mention that bracket, I must have just overlooked it.
