Supra725 Build Thread

What you mean they don't work? Like they were DOA or they're too big?

it doesn't want to light up at all..

I tried it in the dome light's fitting and it still refuse to light up.. the dome lights up without an problem..

Let me go outside and try it again.

size wise.. is good..

I guess try fidgeting with them some more.. They may have wired the leads backwards or something. Might also be polar sensitive as well.

yeah..

so I went back for another try..

turns out the plugs needs to be reverse than the other.. the positive and negative cable is opposite of the dome and trunk light..

on top of that.. I blew a fuse...

pictures will be followed later on this evening..

so the other day.. I decided to take some time off the day and climbed on the roof for some sunsets..

so I have some good news and bad news..

good news-

new brake pads in the front.. my father drove my rig and felt the brakes weren't grabbing.. now that thing can stop instead of sliding lol..

bad news-

rear passenger axle seals have started an minor leak..

I will take an picture of it tomorrow morning since is pretty dark outside..

probably going to get the parts this weekend and see if I can have it done before the storm comes..

looks like the future mods are on hold until the seals+ water pump and timing belt / pulleys are changed..

so an little update

the past 2 weeks had just been crazy..

work, midterms, the lady.. I had no time to wrench on the car...

so I finally got around to order all the parts for the rear diff.. hopefully this coming weekend I can get around to it.. if not next weekend..

on top of that, have to go smog on friday..

so this weekend was sorta of eventful..

had a boat load of hw to deal with.. along with it raining.. I didn't get an chance to wrench on the rig.. however though.. finally found an place that can smog my rig..

it passed with flying colors... but next saturday.. the seals along with its bearings will be replaced..

down side is.. no mod money.. have x-mas, birthdays to attend and my wallet is going to be flat for an while..

so the past 3 days had been a bit crazy..

had an test on Wednesday... followed by Thanksgiving with the family and the girlfriend's family.. I'm literally full to the stomach as I'm typing this.. then went shopping this morning followed by an trip to Palo Alto to pick up some parts with an friend (5 hours road trip) and then did some more shopping.. All I can say is.. I'm pretty burned out.. and then in the morning. going to take the rear axle apart to replace the seals, bearings.. drain out the atf, front/rear diff fluid along with the transfer case..

so is going to suck this weekend.. however, picked up some new blurays for $4 dollars an piece..

So your saying you don't want to come do the fluid change in my truck for me?

maybe I will Stick.. I was in Palo Alto on Friday to pick up some stuff with an friend..

next time when I'm in the bay, I will give you an ring mate.

on top of all this..

went to my mechanic to have the rear axle seals replaced.. things didn't went the way I wanted..

first of all. we had to grind the retainer down along with the abs ring.. and the worse part.. my mechanic didn't have the tools to pull the wheel bearings out.. we tried everything..

called around.. no machine shops were open.. on top of that.. called the dealer and they wanted $120 each side to press an bloody bearing out.. needless to say.. I was mad yesterday.. spend about 7 hours and couldn't get one side done.. also, we didn't have another abs ring to do the driver's side..

on top of that.. my rig is in pieces at my mechanic's shop.. I had to get an ride back from my mechanic.. so as of today.. I'm without my rig.. sorry for the rant..

Nice rig dude. Not being a jerk, but you might want to look into your use of "an". A bunch of times it's been used you should have said "a".

luv you steve hehe

let me mail you an six pack.

on the bright side of town.. the mechanic couldn't do it and had to take it to a shop and having both sides pushed out.. so hopefully tonight, I will have my rig back..

catalina..

thanks.. I'm done modding for the year.. no more money can't be spent till next year.

update from the mechanic..

the shop that is pressing out my axles still has it and I'm another night without my rig..

hopefully tomorrow, they can have the bearings pressed on and the diffs/x-case/atf oil changed along with bleeding from the brakes..

I've been taking the girlfriend's Audi to school and man, it sucks..

on top of that.. is going to rain from midweek till sunday with fog.

little update..

I finally got the rig back and man do I miss it..

but.. I notice an slight oil s,ell coming from the back? is it the fluids burning off? or the new brakes breaking in?

thanks.

could be a combination of both, how well were the drums cleaned? or were they replaced? I know I let the one rear wheel leak so long the pad was almost twice as thick as the other side and that drum took a LOT of clean up work to get all of the fluid out of it.

Stick,

after the week of heavy raining.. the smell is not there anymore..

the other day, I took the car in for an rotate and balance... and one of the techs came out and told me my wheel is slightly bend.

on the inner wheel well, is like 5 oz of weight vs the exterior of 4 oz...

looks like I got some painting to do this weekend..

on the other hand, what does everyone think of led lighting for off-road lights?

so got a little dirty the other day..
